MBV kicks ass on stage and all, but they bore me.
I'm really into listening their LPs with headphones while focusing on dreamy stuff or whatever.

i must be way behind but are they releasing a new LP sometime or are they just cashing in like The pIxies?

but they're not a very entertaining band to watch, i agree...but explosions in the sky has got to be the most boring fucking band i have ever had the displeasure of seeing.

I saw explosions in the sky open up for fugazi about 3-4, years ago. jesus fuck what a dull set of "COUCH-ROCK"

I've been unable to see them, so hopefully they'll do whatever to keep touring into 2009 or so. I must see them. End of story.

exactly EITS = can produce good studio music but live is a bore.
I don't think bands have to be really great on stage either. producing good music on disc is already an achievement.

New Order were notoriously shit live but they're a shit-load better than the Cranberries, who were supposedly quite good.

not a question of being able to play, but being able to actually entertain.
MBV can play but they're not really here to entertain as such ie there's no action on stage apart from big screen projections, ie shoegazing.
which doesn't mean they're half a band.

they sound amazing live but there's no energy or connection between the band and the audience whatsoever. they don't make you want to get up and dance, you can just sort of stand there placidly and stare up at them...

unofficial though. has been one of the only mbv sites for ages before the reunion.

that's why they're amazing. its like they're just rehearsing in their space and the audience isnt there.
