Queens of the Stone Age
When I first heard them, I was really indifferent, but as of late, they've really grown on me.
Rated R is a very fine album in my opinion; Self-titled isn't bad either. Fans? |
yes, i am a fan

KYUSS
KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS KYUSS ![]() ![]() ![]() and to a lesser extent ![]() Queens get progressively more commercial with every album, boooo! If you like rated r, try the self titled |
I have Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun, but I don't find myself listening to it much.
I know QOTSA sound commercial, that's why at first I was indifferent, but I find that they're a really fun, good band. |
songs for the deaf rocks really hard. i love it. i downloaded their other cds but im yet to listen
|
listen to "thumb" and "spacecadet" and tell me kyuss werent one of the best bands ever
|
Yeah, Kyuss.
|
I like Songs For The Deaf the most, but none of their albums consistently intrigue me all the way through. I like the Lanegan songs the least.

amen brother, amen. i liked lullabies a lot after a couple of listens, i like that they have these really compressed, well written pop rock songs, and then the second half is more jam-oriented, songs for the deaf bores me after track 5 or 6, rated r is teh qotsa album by excellence, i haven't heard the s/t. but yeah, give me the best quotsa record and kyuss can surpass that with any intro of any of their songs. |
i like QOTSA. i have Rated R and Songs for the Deaf and i like them both (SFTD just barely tops RR).
but, yes, Kyuss is superior. |
go buy the first QOTSA album immediatley......its my fav of thiers.....but barely, just ahead of Rated R
|
sky valley mmmm goodness
earth acid cleanses me cleanses me clean |
I like Songs for the Deaf the most.
|
I used to not care for them that much and only checked them out because of Mark Lanegan and wasn't impressed, but then Lullabies to Paralyze changed all that and I like them a lot now.
|
someones in the wolf is a great, dark/sick song.
|
I have and love Rated R, but I that's all I've got...possibly all I need, too...

I agree. I downloaded Songs for the Deaf and wasn't impressed. You might not go wrong with the self titled, though. |
I never really liked them.
|
queens of the stone age and the eagles of death metal is basically party music.. they do have some good songs and some boring ones that are repetitive and long..
it balances out in the end.. and yes, they are practically the same band.. |
Rated R was alright, Songs for the deaf was great and Lullabies to paralyze had some nice songs but i got bored of it real fast.

clueless comparison
Quote:
dude, thats the most clueless comparison ever....eagles of death metal are a joke band, homme drums for them. he doesnt play guitar so right away the comparison is null and void. QOTSA are 10 times the band that eagles of death metal are. i dont see or hear a similarity AT ALL. i saw QOTSA a few years back and they played an awesome show that i wish could have gone on for anohter hour or so.....i saw eagles of death metal only because The Minibosses were one of thier opening bands. the minibosses alone were waaaaaaaaaaaay better than eagles of death metal. eagles came on after minibosses blew us away. i heard 2 songs and left...disgusted |
Yeah, Kyuss is/was awesome.
Love QOTSA's first two albums, their last two albums on the otherhand... |
Man...they're really fuckin' good. That first album of theirs is balls, man...balls. Granted, they've lost a bit of their spark since then, but still, for a radio friendly modern rock band, they's good sheeit. Fuck da haters.

I have all QOTSA album, except their most recent. But I will get it. They're an awesome band. I've been into them for years, If Only was the first song of theirs I heard and I loved it. It shocked me greatly when they got huge success with Songs for the Deaf. I don't know how anyone is saying their musics 'for the radio'. It's not particularly radio friendly. They aren't conventional as opposed to everything else thats basically on the radio. And Songs for the Deaf was an entire album bagging out the radio, yet radiostations went crazy playing their songs from that album, and still play alot of their music today.
I think all their albums are class. My favourite probably being their self-titled. |

These albums are great... well Wretch is O.K, haha. I love Kyuss, that is how I got into QOTSA. Kyuss have been for many years, and will always be one of my favourite bands. Anyone heard Tool's cover of Demon Cleaner? Yeah, it's good, but not even Tool could do it better than Kyuss. |
EODM make me dance.
|
i like QUOTSA and EODM a lot. haven't checked out kyuss yet.
|
I cant be bothered reading this whole thread cause I've got to finish this thing I'm typing I just wanted to be counted. I love the QOTSA, I realy like Kyuss too, blues for the red sun is amazing, the first four tracks are just relentless. But for me its all about the Queens, All their albums rock my world (although the last one isnt as good as the others) Songs for the Deaf is a bona fide masterpiece, first it giveth turned up loud, plenty of bass, is my idea of heaven. Josh Homme should be crowned king of something.
