so who votes for these NME polls?
The top albums of all time, 40thousand people voted, with 95% of them being Britons.
The top 10: 1. "Definitely Maybe," Oasis. 2. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," The Beatles. 3. "Revolver," The Beatles. 4. "OK Computer," Radiohead. 5. "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" Oasis. 6. "Nevermind," Nirvana. 7. "The Stone Roses," The Stone Roses. 8. "Dark Side of the Moon," Pink Floyd. 9. "The Queen Is Dead," The Smiths. 10. "The Bends," Radiohead. do you brits really like Oasis? I mean REALLY? those fucking hacks? Those fucking fops? I presume that 90% of the voters for this are under 25 years old. |
14 year old boys/girls who want to fuck Pete Doherty. These are the people who vote for these polls.

|
Holy shit... Oasis at #1!? And they're on there twice!? Wow... that's just criminal.
|
i know yeah, i saw this, i'd say they come up with these polls themselves, all sitting around drinking coffee from oversized mugs and pulling each others mickeys...
|
well what do you expect in an nme top 10 poll, sonic youth?
|
Quote:
thats true too, but you can nearly guess what the poll is going to be before they even write it.. 2 beatles albums... an Oasis album.. the madadtory Smaiths album and then that fuckin Stone Roses debut which dont get me wrong is a good album but for fuck sake.. let it go. |
well my comment wasn't aimed at you in particular, just to people whinging about the nme in general, it just gets on my nerves because it's not like nme has ever done anything else but write about those kind of bands. and the nme is a terrible read so why does everyone bother to take it seriously?
|
Gallagher brothers? Twice? Pieces of shite!
|
The nme used to be good 300 years ago.Hello magazine used be good but it's become very mainstream now.
|
I am not complaining about NME. I was just asking what demographic read sit, that it would come up with such a ridiculous list of "greatest albums of all time."
Here are rob instigator's greatest albums of all time (in no particular order, and the list may change tomorrow and every day after that, but...) Daydream Nation The Beatles (white album) Yr Living All Over Me Are You Experienced? Abbey Road Live Rust Reckoning Doolittle Mothership Connection Kind of Blue |

i'm trying to remember if i've ever actually seen someone read thae nme within living memory.

ha, yes all the lists are shit, and it makes us brits look bad, but really were not all wankers its just those that arent dont vote in these here polls,
ive never been bothered about nme really until earlier this year, and since then my band have now been featured within its pages a good few times and on its cover i think its nt all that bad n tha, ha |
I saw a girl with a good charlotte t-shirt on reading it once.
|
Oh course The New Morressey Express has to include a Smiths album!...really us Brits dont really like Oasis that much...in fact we dont like NME that much. Personally I cant read it - NME writers are sick creatures!
|
this is a rough sketch of the readers:
mostly male late teens to late twenties students people that would prefer bands to be 'working class' and British to anything else and interesting mainstream indie listeners don't like experimental music |
Quote:
mmmmm i blame the students, and the Kieser Chief's fans |
what else to expect from such a magazine? doesn't surprise me at all.
|
The NME is still going???!!!!
