that's fucked up. i had a dream i rode a bike. but then i woke up and thought nah car works

akprodr 10.29.2008 07:25 AM

Alas, I have two bicycles which are feeling very unloved this year. I have a fairly recent Bianchi road bike and a old Fisher mountain bike.

Between my dog's need for exercise and the obscene heat this past summer, I've totally gotten out of the riding habit--to which my belly can attest. I also miss the miles of bike paths in Anchorage.

I was very surprised when my mom suggested I get a motorcycle as a cheap means of transport. If I move to the city, I may do that.

ilduclo 10.29.2008 03:57 PM

bianchi '95

mangajunky 10.29.2008 04:05 PM

I have an 05 Specialized
it's one of those city bikes that's a hybrid of a mountain bike and a street bike. Its frame looks like a mountain bike but it has those really skinny tires. I love it!

ploesj 10.29.2008 04:07 PM

just a normal bike, i've had it for about eight years...

i don't ride it that much anymore though, used to go to school on it, which took me half an hour.

HECKLER SPRAY 10.29.2008 04:47 PM

This one :

Decathlon Rockrider 6.0
A good one.
I should ride it more often. I'm a bit lazy.

phoenix 10.29.2008 05:52 PM

I'd like to learn to ride motorbikes one day... but I'd probably be too much of a scardey cat to ride all the time. It wouldn't be a stupid dirt bike though, and no harley or chopper, it'd be a nice jap bike, hmm..

I have a fairly basic Marin that I've had for about ten years. I've been so busy of late that the first time I got it out of the garage this year was last weekend, and that was just to pop down to the local shops.

I had a road bike for a while (yet another Bianchi!), but I never enjoyed riding it because British roads just aren't cyclist-friendly, so I sold it to a mate.

mangajunky 10.30.2008 10:45 AM

Oh and of course I have my Lambretta Jet 200 and my Vespa ET3 hot rod.

can yr bike c-walk?

cars_willkillyou 10.31.2008 01:45 AM

85 marukin, and a 92 bianchi. The Bianchi is beautiful. The marukin is the bike i try to get hit by traffic in. It can haul ass when i need it to, and when I need to as well, but its heavy, old, pretty banged up, yet perfectly ride-able and functional. Just has quirks. Like the Millenium Falcon. The Bianchi is a TIE Interceptor. Its small, its quick, and looks amazing.

I used to have a 2004 Canondale hybrid bike. It was a road/dirt bike frame with wide slick tires. I think they were inch and a half wide. But they were slicks, so there werent like and treads. Sorry if my explaination sucks, im blazin right now and pretty tired. I love my Canondale. I rode it everyday when I lived in gainesville. I didnt even drive a car. I rode my bike anywhere I needed to go. I also biked a 70 mile marathon from the University of Miami To Key Largo, which was incredible. Then during my last week gainesville, my bike is stolen from my front porch, which was a bike rack that belonged to the pizza palace that i lived above/worked at/restored. It was locked up. The only way they got it was with some big ass bolt cutters. then they would have to saw off the U-lock that locked the front tire to the frame. It sucked. I loved that bike.

that sucks about your bike. that's what i'm afraid of here in the city.

i used to go to gainesville all the time from 2003 to about 2006. the only good place for shows was there. everything from wayward to common grounds. do you still live there and are you going to the fest?

foxforce5 10.31.2008 05:11 AM

Specialized Allez Pro 07.

Im not going to the fest. I live in ft lauderdale now, and because of a sudden chain of financial problems, i have canceled all previous plans to visit gainesville.

Tim and Terrys, Market Street Pub, 1982, Lillians, Common Grounds, The Atlantic...then a few houses that are known to throw concerts...Those are where shows happen in gainesville. But gainesville always changes. Most of those places wont exist in another 4 years, then the places that replaced them will be replaced in another 4 years...possibly knocked down.

Alex's Trip 11.02.2008 11:25 AM

I want some kind of beach cruiser bike.

macrodollar 11.02.2008 04:08 PM

A crap heavy useless 'hybrid' for Halfords, until it got nicked 3 weeks ago. I thought I chained it but neither was there when I went back for it.
Part of me quite likes the idea of a motorbike, but then I remember I can't even afford a drum kit.

RdTv 11.02.2008 04:23 PM

07 giant cypress st. fancy name for a heavyweight hybrid mtb/road bike. I put some decent tires on it and just ride it about 20 miles a day during the week. hoping to get a true road bike that i can commute with better.

Massenvernichtungswaffen 11.02.2008 05:04 PM

I own a CCM Centennial 1867-1967 Duomatic Cruiser.
It's gold, and is a two speed. Back pedal brake/gear shift.
Interesting bike. smooth ride.

this photo is backwards, so my jazzmaster in the background looks lefty. ugh.

that's the bike i found about a month ago. i still haven't had a chance to fix it up. it needs a new seat, brakes and chain among other things.

i've been using a friends bike for awhile now.

uhler 02.04.2009 04:10 PM

so i finally got the bike above all fixed up. it needed a new chain, front brake (i got the back brake taken off) and wheel. sometime soon i'm going to get a new crank and maybe a new seat post. i had it turned into a freewheel too.
