I haven't heard of a ton of those. I thought Domkirke was horribly boring though. Even for them.
Myth of Blue Icicles and Smile were great, and I really want to hear the LSD March one. I've never heard any LSD Pond, either. |
I have lain ignorant of any new music in the last year, so i might actually look for some of your sugestions atsonicpark

2007 release. |
Wow. I don't think I've liked 100 albums from any year, much less 2008. There's probably only 10-15 that I like this year and maybe only five I'm going to listen to consistently when the year is over.
Kudos. Will check a lot of those out. |
Like Acousticrock, while I've not taken too much notice of new releases this year, yours looks like a decent list to explore for possible purchases in the future. Nice one.

i'm pretty sure i got that and the other one (staged?) at the same time, and that was sometime last year. discogs.com also lists it as 2007. |
Hmm.
Well, just in case it is 2008, feel free to replace that entry with the sir richard bishop / earth split then, haha. ...er, that's 2008 for sure, right? |

Have you heard Mystic Atmosphere? That also came out this year and I think I prefer it over Prayer for Chibi. Very raw. edit: it's OOP but I'll upload it for you if you want. or you could get it on slsk etc. |
Yeah, I've heard em all. Mystic Atmosphere is awesome, it's just not as epicly awesome. Haha.
|
Ah, OK. I should get back to listening to Prayer For Chibi I suppose.
I was eagerly anticipating it, but when it came out and I heard it I just couldn't really get in to it much. It just seemed too.... long. and too quiet. I really love Suishou No Fune though. |
When you hear that stuff live, it is anything but quiet.
Those two like it LOUD. |
I've been hoping to hear them live for a couple of years now... and I think it's finally going to happen in 2009. Fingers crossed.
|
Excellent number 1 atsonicpark, I love that album. I need to hear more SNF, for sure.
haven't heard anything else in yr top 5 though, to soulseek I go! :) |

Hey, thanks for the people who repped me. I just checked and was shocked to see I'm # 2 on the rep list. No one's ever going to beat floatingslowly though, haha.
|
I was not kiddin' about alopecia, DUDE!!
|
I'm not into much new music, but Quaristice and In Rainbows (released 2008 here) were pretty good. Quaristice in particular took me ages to get into but was most rewarding, solidifying the fact that Autechre's albums are all quality.
Ooh and the Pavement reissue of Brighten the Corners was awesome. Really dug it. |
