DeadDiscoDildo 01.14.2009 02:34 PM

hahaha

my drummer just showed me this MF doom guy.

Not a big rap fan but he had some good lyrics in parts, and seemed to be pretty funny....

oh and he was blazin 24/7 on the dvd that came with the cd so I approve.

on SYG, really?

haha

noisereductions 01.14.2009 02:55 PM

DDD, we've discussed Doom lots on here. He's brilliant. Trust me.

DeadDiscoDildo 01.14.2009 03:04 PM

word

o'connor 01.14.2009 05:49 PM

co-sign... weezy is talented and all (for mainstream rap) but DOOM is hands down the best rapper alive.

Derek 01.14.2009 06:37 PM

no way, he has bad flow.

it's his beats that make it interesting.

Saul is a great writer, but MF Doom (and quite a few others that come to mind) are far better RAPPERS.

o'connor 01.14.2009 08:17 PM

yeah sauls nice for spoken word stuff, but he is NOT a rapper.

vulva 01.14.2009 08:38 PM

Act III Scene II disagrees

noisereductions 01.14.2009 09:00 PM

I'm saying, Saul is a good rapper. But he's still got a way to go.

I couldn't disagree more. One of the reasons I simply adore DOOM is his uniquely unconventional flow.

noisereductions 01.15.2009 08:23 AM

Jeez listen to "I Hear Voices" or "Change The Beat" and tell me dude can't flow.

o'connor 01.15.2009 02:38 PM

enough arguing though... WHAT DID YA'LL THINK ABOUT THE SONG?!?

noisereductions 01.15.2009 03:13 PM

I didn't listen. I rarely listen to a single track before an album I'm anticipating comes out. I mean, I know I'm going to buy the album regardless of what this song sounds like, so I'd rather just wait and hear the track in the context of the entire album.

o'connor 01.15.2009 05:18 PM

yeah that' show i usually do it too... but i've been waiting on soem new doom for too damn long lol.

noisereductions 01.15.2009 05:27 PM

Did you get WHO IS THIS MAN? by John Robinson? It came out late 2008. It was decent, though Most of Doom beats had been used before at some point.

o'connor 01.15.2009 11:56 PM

i liked that one song w/ doom on it, but yeah i got tired of hearing reused doom beats. very dissappointing.

I noticed I ended up only relistening to the tracks that had like the unused SPECIAL HERBS 9 + 0 beats.

o'connor 01.16.2009 11:49 PM

hell yeah, i think 9 & 0 is my favorite sopecial herbs album.

It's my favorite of the series by far. It's the only one I still listen to often. A lot of the beats dont even sound like hip hop instrumentals. They sound like finished tracks.
