Dextromethorphan is the active ingredient that you're going to want to look for when trying to get high off the non-prescription syrup.

thats what some websites said. but, the manual, or whatever didnt even list ingridients. its more like a slime medicine rather than cough.

I know you cannot buy syrup with codeine in it in the UK. Dextromethorphan is the only one that works. You can find it in Benelyn dry coughs, non drowsy. I've tried it a few times but i won't be doing it again.

If you get a prescription, get codimal or hydrobit.. you can drink a swig or two and get FUCKED UP. Usually, they mix the codeine with shit that will make you sleep, though, so be careful.

If you want to get over the counter shit that'll make you trip balls, go to CVS and get something with ONLY dextromethorphan in it. Almost all cough syrup has that in there but not as the only ingredient. However, at CVS, they have some, and almost all the "gels" you find will have that as the only ingredient. I weigh 120 lbs so half a bottle makes me trip.

I've never tried dex, just diphenhydramine which is nice in a very small dosage, but again makes you fall asleep right after feeling the symptoms. I had it mixed with dimenhydranate [gravol] and it was a terrible experience.

Make sure you read reports before trying anything, and "build up" your system beforehand by taking a tiny dosage one night, the next night a little more, and increasing by small dosages each time to see what you can handle so you don't have a terrible experience. I can't even take marijuana anymore because of my head's sensitivity to it.

Robotripping (what we call in getting high off cough syrup in Pgh; don't know if it's wide-spread) is huffing for college kids.
