the taxman cometh - ebay auctions
the taxman laid down the law on my wife and i on saturday, so its time to raise some quick money to replenish our savings account ...
lots and lots of rare stuff here. sunburned hand, mv/ee, radiohead, sonic youth, wolf eyes, vxpxc, acid mothers & lsd march related stuff. along with a bunch of personal art that has been in limited quantities for a while ... check it out: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/snstrexgtr |
Sorry to hear about the taxman - I've put a few things on watch in an effort to help.
Thank you, by the way, for timing your auctions so that they finish at a sensible time in both Europe and America. There's nothing more annoying than seeing an auction that is worth bidding on that finishes in the early hours of the European morning. |
thanks man! but i can't take credit for the timing. you can blame another new england snow storm that had me in the house all day yesterday haha

I saw all this on ebay earlier and couldn't understand why they were being sold but now i know. I'm also watching many of yr items especialy the Sunburned stuff. |
so hard to part with a lot of the stuff, but liberating at the same time as i have been threatening to go strictly vinyl for the better part of the year. a lot of that sunburned is really, really limited straight from the hands of the band in payment for art i did in the past. my loss is your gain!
|
bump - just a few short hours left!
|
taxmans takin all my dough...
what prices are you asking for postage to the UK? |
7 first disc, then everything added depending on weight since its all records and cds probably no more than 13-15.
|
i have to admit i didn't realize how much people wanted some of these pieces. i am getting offers for me to bootleg certain discs because they couldn't originally get them and they are afraid of losing the auction. its kind of shocking ...
|
I'ma bid on yer pissed jeans 7 inch
|
I also got the Wooden Shjips one.
Haha sorry for the low sum, I promsie my max bid was better! |
no worries!! every little thing counts and they are 2 great 7 inches!!
|
Haha well I'm glad I could be of some sort of help, and look forward to listening to them!
|
I bid on 10 of yr items but only won 1, the Michael Flower band s/t cd.
|
^
I seriously considered bidding on that, but dozed off in front of the TV early yesterday evening and woke up after it had finished. |
So that Live at the Eagle's Nest DVD is worth over $40 nowadays, eh? Hmmm.
|
yea i guess so! i bought it for 5 one of the first times i saw the band in 2004 ... its kind of weird how much some of the things went for. i didn't think they were that rare or in demand, but people were obviously looking for them ...
|
I also bought it for a fiver at one of their shows back then. It's alright, but I'd definitely sell it for $40.
eBay never ceases to amaze me. I was following a load of Birchville Cat Motel auctions last week, all by the same seller, all starting at $0.99. In the end, none of them went under $20. This one even went for nearly $150! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220370922944 |
i am starting to believe there is no recession between how much alot of these pieces went for and watching auctions in the last couple weeks. plus here in boston its still impossible to find somewhere to dine on a week night without a wait ... or people's priorities are just kind of whacked.
|
The recession exists but I think is more psychological than anything. I mean if one company failed, but Americans didn't worry about it and just continued normal spending habits, things would probalby be a lot better off.
But the news industry which profits off of scaring the fuck out of you so that you can do nothing but watch their shows in order to know if you are safe, blows the whole thing up and makes it seem like we are in some economic holocaust. Fuck the recession. |
thats great news to hear they will be wonderfully cared for! the way i look at it in the end is they are going to someone who is going to love them more than i ever did because i was willing to let them go. its also great to be freed from such a collection that was growing and growing needing more room.
i also saw that janitor news clip. they were saying by monday night they were expecting over 800 applications ... plus those photos from the sacramento tent city paired up with the 20's recession photos are completely eerie ... |
And you get to pay ebay and paypal ALL THOSE FEES!

This is kind of ignorant. It depends on what age bracket I guess, it doesn't affect me individually so much...but my dad lost $80,000 of his retirement just this past year as GE Stock continues to plummit. Fuck the recession, indeed. |
Limp Bizkit is an American nu metal band from Jacksonville, Florida. The band achieved success with over 50 million albums sold worldwide.
|
Lemme repeat:
50 million. Now, don't get me wrong, Limp Bizkit's "3 Dolla Bill Y'All$" is the fucking shit, classic amazing album. But 50 million?! |
i love that this turned into a limp bizkit thread ... my parents once wouldn't let me see limp bizkit on the 3 dollar y'all tour when it was literally 3 bucks to see them. all my friends went, kind of a bummer but 12 years later it feels good to say i never saw them ...
yea ebay/paypal fees - 2 thumbs down. probably will equal around 150-200 after everything is said and done. |
