Favourite Collaborations in music

What do you like?
I'm not sure who will agree with me on these or not but here's a few of mine...

The Velvet Underground & Nico - on the s/t album
M83 & Morgan Kibby - on album, saturdays = youth
SY & Chuck D (lol, just kidding)

etc. etc. there's a lot more I just can't think of any at the moment.

atsonicpark 05.04.2009 03:54 PM

I think we've had this thread, but my all time favorite collaboration is the Residents/Renaldo and the Loaf's "Title in Limbo".

joe11121 05.04.2009 03:56 PM

Ah shit, I searched too.

atsonicpark 05.04.2009 03:58 PM

It doesn't really matter. I know I listed a lot more in the other thread but my mind's blank right now (just woke up).

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.04.2009 04:31 PM

_slavo_ 05.04.2009 04:49 PM

Aidan Baker & Thisquietarmy
Lee Ranaldo & Birchville Cat Motel

Savage Clone 05.04.2009 04:56 PM

Conrad Schnitzler and Mayhem, just for the sheer unlikeliness of it.

chairman of the bored 05.04.2009 05:11 PM

^yeah, that shit is great

Death & the Maiden 05.05.2009 12:56 AM

Not really a collaboration, since they were in the same band, but I really like the duet between Blixa Bargeld and Nick Cave on The Weeping Song.

Eno/Byrne
Vega/Pan sonic

Death & the Maiden 05.05.2009 05:51 AM

I ordered a Borknagar album a few weeks ago, and they're quite the black metal supergroup, with Garm (Arcturus, Ulver) on vocals, Infernus (Gorgoroth) on bass, Grim (Gorgoroth, Immortal) on drums, Ivar Bjornson (Enslaved) on keyboards and Oystein G Brun (Molested) on guitar.

The Ex + Tom Cora released two albums.
My favourite is And the Weathermen Shrugged Their Shoulders.
I missed the Ex when they toured with Getatchew Mekurya; samples I got on Youtube were promising.

noisereductions 05.05.2009 09:05 AM

Huey Lewis & The News?

afterthefact 05.05.2009 09:49 AM

Boris/Keiji Heino

The Sound Of Animals Fighting - a collab group for members from RX Bandits, Circa Survive, Chiodos, and a few other bands... one of the dudes from Sunn does their albums artwork

I would like to hear the M83 & Morgan Kibby collab...

alex_could 05.05.2009 09:49 AM

Derek 05.05.2009 10:15 AM

UUUUUU and Earth Incubator

afterthefact 05.05.2009 10:17 AM

Actually, isn't every band you like really just a collaboration between different musicians? :)

godsfavoritedog 05.05.2009 01:30 PM

Neurosis and Jarboe
Melvins and Jello Biafra
Mike Patton and Dillinger Escape Plan
