Not really. The Liars hating is getting boring man, you already mentionned them twice in a day... maybe you actually like them in the subconscious part of your conscience, but it just gets blocked at Freud's repression border in your brain because of that gay porn picture they did which just stresses you. So it gets you raging and you feel the strange need to mention them even in threads that got no link with them.

Riiiiight. They suck. They're worse than any of the bands mentioned so far in these threads. I'd start a thread for em but I'm too lazy. I am mentioning em so much because I listened to Sisterworld yesterday and it is by far one of the worst albums I've ever heard.

I haven't heard it yet, and the first track I've heard is not that great indeed, so I won't talk about it - I'm waiting for the proper release to hear it, I don't like leaks. All of their previous albums are great in my opinion though - yeah, even the self-titled one which I found really fun.
Then again it's a matter of taste. I don't even listen to Drum's Not Dead that much nowadays - though I still consider it a masterpiece -, as I'm more into electronic music now. Still, they're a band that changed my perception of music, and I don't think a band that can change one's musical perception so radically can be said to plain suck. To each their own I guess.

Have you heard the new Pantha du Prince record, or the new Four Tet record? I don't know if you're into straight techno (though they're not pure techno, but they've got constant 4/4 beats going on most of the time), but those are really awesome. I'm still waiting eagerly for the Rustie record to drop. Wonky music is fucking great

Yeah drum&bass gets boring pretty quick. Be sure to check Extrawelt's album from two years ago if you want some fantastic minimal techno. It is fucking awesome, you can't beat the bass in "Dark Side Of My Room".

Go listen threw us off and the final track sounds completely like most of the music you love.

Hmm I find their album very good. Sure, I wouldn't listen to it every day, but I don't see how I could not at least move my head to Dark Side Of My Room, Must Attack or Trummerfeld. Plus the production is really incredible, it's one of the things that hit me most when I first listened to it. I'm not into minimal techno as much as I used too (as I said, I'm more into wonky stuff now... however ridiculous that name might be), but I recently checked Schone Neue Extrawelt again and still enjoyed it a lot.

my sentiments exactly, i admit i liked some of their early work, but when they started using french that's when i knew there was something seriously wrong with this band

Yeah seriously. French has got to be the worst language ever, and it's spoken by the worst people ever. France is the worst country of them all, I fucking hate it! Not only is it ugly and dumb, but it's also the most pretentious shit ever. I admit I quite liked France before all the hype, but now it's just so mainstream. i'm not sure if this is out of total love or sheer ignorance, but i cannot think of one bad thing to say about sonic youth.

okay, maybe some non-committal half-trashing of bits of rather ripped, but that's definitely more of a shrug than a massacre.

at this point in my life i am having a hard time giving a shit about entertainment of any sort, be it music or film or whatever. it's gotten to the point now were entertainment and hedonism is something i want to escape FROM not into.

this isn't a place were you can learn anything much, it's just a place to have your ego and ignorance confirmed and publically display what a dick you are, or how smart or nihilistic you are... so what. it's fun, but sometimes it's tiring aswell.

like i can't be bothered ripping on everyone, it's just so futile. i feel like my brain is dumbening every second i spend here. like some 17th century french peasant jacking his syphilitic dick over and over till it falls off.

i am totally being sapped in time and energy by hanging here. the best thing to come out of this place have been adams films which are so good they had me planning to go film my own after watching them. (not doing that now cos im concentrating on writing and its logistically impossible to film the stuff i want atm). but anyway, im getting really bored trying to pretend i care these days and know there is different stuff i should be doing. that nagging truth cant be suppressed no matter how hard i try. i can act in bad faith but i can't live my whole life in it.

i don't even THINK when i'm watching a film anymore. it's very hard to even listen to music, i forget i'm listening to it and don't notice it. it doesn't leave any real impression. not always the fault of the music, it's just my head is not there and is looking for something completly different. i think with a fast broadband connection you just become totally oversaturated with music and film to the point were it means nothing anymore. so whatever, time for me to take a break, it will always be there if i need it.

what i was trying to say is that they make well produced tunes, but nothing very original.
berlins minimal techno has much more to offer than extrawelt.
