For something recent, get the YOLZ IN THE SKY album http://www.mediafire.com/?jk1zenmdk19 which is like Melt Banana but catchier and more energetic.. just brilliant. But if you really want something FUN... PLUS TECH SQUEEZEBOX! Imagine every genre of music EVER MADE put into a blender and then spit out in little 90 second brilliant pop nuggets. |

P-Model are amazing.
Polysics, P-Model, Spoozys, Metronome, etc. That whole scene is amazing. My favorite "Japanese" band is NUMBER GIRL. Anything related to them: TODDLE, ZAZEN BOYS, SLOTH LOVE CHUNKS, VOLA AND THE ORIENTAL MACHINE. Just mindblowing. I made a post about this but it didn't get any replies. I went to a music festival in Tokyo that featured a lot of these bands and took some video if anyone is interested. Previous bands mentioned include Lolz in the Sky, Limited Express has Gone, Hijokaidon, Doddodo, and maybe some more.
