EU
I am back. Kinda.
|
The EU has killed off European induviduality. I miss the currencies. I mean, €?
|
Well, how about that! Hello again.
|
'lo
|
HAHAHA
my EU was meant just to get your attention. but I bet the real EU was meant for that also. It might have killed European individuality but the UK will always be the UK. |
I might as well start posting in this board again. I kind of missed it. I got a new computer today and as the first website that came to my mind to try the internet here was sonicyouth.com....I was so near the board that I dropped on by.
|
Long time no see....howdy.
|
Yes indeedy... hello from me too...

Hah, I thought I could start a new discussion or something. I don't really care about the UK- I just miss being able to bring home weird money from all the European countries.. I mean now its just Dollar, Pound, and Euro. Boring. |
well, I am really wanting to get a pound, because it looks like that fake money from the Monopoly game.
|
Hey! Welcome back.
|
that's bollocks about the eu killing off individuality
|
awwww. its good to have you back..

I wouldn't worry about that. I reckon they will go back eventually. Italy already has, Holland might be or may already have done it because it fucked up their economy. |

I never heard anything about this.... I believe there still is the euro in Italy. It is true that their economy is very bad. In Holland (my country) the economy is not doing very well, but this has not much to do with a currency. It has more to do with high rate of jobless people, little economic progress, more competition with other countries (because the euro makes competition easier) and a very low rate of entrepreneurship. These things have to do with the negative sides of the wellfare state, and the law (like rules against firing people). It's a big risk being an entrepreneur in Holland, so people don't take any economic chances, and progress stops. |
hey!

I know what you mean chuck. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Holland has changed a lot in the last few years. I think the euro had it's impact, but the political turmoil has a lot to do with it too. First Fortuyn's murder, followed by Van Gogh's and last but not least the healthcare has gone for a ball of shit. People are worried about their futures. Something of a different note, you can't even smoke a joint in the street that easily anymore. You could get a fine. How absurd is that. Foreigners think that Holland is still a bed of roses, 'cause they don't live here. Let me tell you peoples, it's not. I just hope things get better. *fingers crossed* |

Right. But about Italy going back to its original currency, I'm sure that happened, may have been Spain though. Which country has the lire?(is that spelt right?) It was that country |
Welcome back Controle, you've been missed around here, a lot of questions of why you've been MIA. We've all missed your insight and wit on all manner of trivial and pointless topics.

All the Euros look like Monopoly money. Especially the five Euro. And the coins too. The pennies are almost microscopic. Still, Euros are so much better than boring US money. Everything looks the same. Welcome back Contre! |
Euros all look the fucking same. They are a nightmare....the coins at least.
|
The coins, I will admit were hard to get used to the first few days. But after that it was no big deal. I really liked the concept of have bigger denominations in coins. Paying for drinks and meals and other things just in coins and not having to worry about getting change.

Italy had Lire. Spain had pesetas. But none of those 2 countries came back to their old currency. The major problem for Italy's economy was not the Euro, but Berlusconi. And he's gone ;) |

I think that once you make the change over you can't go back. Like once your in the EU you can't go out without a serious movement or something (ie war). It does seem kinda weird that everyone is going to be getting EU ID cards soon. It's kinda becoming the United States of Europe. But, speaking from an American standpoint, I would much rather live in Europe than the US. Everything is just so much nicer over there. Not like the backwoods, redneck stuff we have in the US. |
Like this guy. I personally saw around 100 Euros in his case at like 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Thats not too bad for playing a violin.

none of the countries has gone back to it's earlier currency, Slovenia is going to implement it in 2007. The inflation on certain goods (above all energy) has increased disproportionately high, though. I think, it's too soon to completively judge it.
|
por nada!!!
|
The EU is foul, an insidious, intolerant, wretched and power crazed political body that should have become a corpse long ago; corruption, incompetence and the bludgeoning use of authority have been legitimised by both the institution itself and the component governments.
It has become nothing more than a money-spinning, power-grabbing method of abuse. It serves no legitimate or moral purpose. |
awww, its so good to have you back, we have missed you around here!!!!
|
any new art or patches or anything cool you've created?
|
yeah you need to flood the board with pictures like the old days!!!!!!!!!
