It was a Polish immigrant called....can't remember now began with K......but apparently they kind of knew this anyway but didn't convict him because he was Jewish and there was a lot of anti-semitism around at the time. If they did convict him there would have been a lot violence erupting because of this.

Um, no. There was about 4 suspects. Some notes from the original investigation were found and these showed that this guy did it.

They've discovered "for sure" many times over the last few years who he was. Even Patricia Cornwell had a go. In truth, nobody will ever know this long after. Even a note saying "I did it" would be suspect. It's fun to speculate though. Bit like the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot.

There was a lad named Kosminski, i think it was, that has been fairly high on the list for years, but I remember hearing a very convincing case put forward against an American doctor called Fracis Tumbelty, I just can't remeber exacty how it went.

his name was francis tumblety and he was american or canadian i think. his name has been bounding around for a while in relation to this. he fled to america and was never heard of agin.

I'm glad they've decided who he was. It gets me off the hook at last.

Aaron Kosminski was it. It's because the grandson of the guy who was in charge of the investigation has handed over new notes which name him as the killer.

I always heard it was a woman, and I thought recently they did DNA testing a discovered it was a woman. I don't know if they can actually do that or not just by studying the DNA (not saying they can't, I just know nothing about DNA testing). But it would make sense, a woman wanting all the local prostitutes dead, working in place of all the women who's husbands were running of with the local hookers...

Using their experience of modern-day crime to examine 13 different witness statements taken at the time of the killings, investigators have decided that he looked like a movie Mexican bandit or something:

I wonder if that looks like any of the suspects.
