Soundgarden was one of the best mainstream bands of the 90's
God I wish they'd reunite. I'd be there so fucking fast I'd be an african american blur
Well sure......I like Nirvana and Pearl Jam more, but I won't get into that because it'll cause a bloodbath here....listening to Binaural right now. Oh dear.
Bad Motor Finger is my fav.
Yeah me too....I like everything to the end though.
I was really never a huge Soundgarden fan, they were alright I guess. It would be cool if they got back together though cause then maybe Audioslave wouldn't put out anymore music and the world would be a better place.
Yeah, I don't like rage against the slave either.
great band-i'd doubt they'll ever get back together tho. my fave album is ultramega ok
I used to love LOUDER THAN LOVE. that shit woudl rock me hard.
then they got sludgey like emtallica got sludgy and i stopped listening. but I am still full on kevins mom |
Gross. Terrible band.
Sorry. |
i liked johnny cash's version of 'rusty cage'

dude, the best mainstream band of the nineties was clearly Fine Young Cannibals. on a more serious note, soundgarden fucking sucked then, and audioslave fucking sucks now. |
Badmotorfinger was my first album and still my favorite. Kim Thayil is a god
Nothing to Say was probably one of the greatest firt songs by a band ever!! God damn, I wish SOundgarden woulr reunite. All the other great alternative rock bands have reunited, it's about time Chris Cornell got his act together and quit that lame-ass Audioslave bullcrap and got back to what he was good at: heavy rock and roll.
P.S. Pearl Jam was not better than Soundgarden.
black hole sun,
my favorite song by themm |

Fuck yeah. That Leslie effect is so damn trippy! I love it. One of the best songs of the 90's. |
yeah, the video is great. i probably watch it at least 10 times in a day
I love all the video warping in Black Hole Sun. SO damn trippy. It's like the band was on acid while recording the song and thinking of a premise for the video. One of the best music videos ever, man.
They probably were, I wouldn't doubt it. I have audio of it live, Chris' voice is pretty bad.

That's too bad about Chris' voice. He usually sounds amazing. I think he was the best rock vocalist of the 90's. No one could touch him. He could hit notes that I didn't even think were possible for a man to hit without being classically trained as an operatic singer. It blows my mind. |
Yeah I have other songs live and they sound great.
I'll bet they do. I really hate the world for the band's dissolution. That and Rage Against the Machine. I really wanted to see them live.
I know, Rage would have been fucking great to see live.
Zach was rediculously entertaining, I love his little dance in The Bullet In The head video. |
You know, you'd think that two of the greatest rock acts of the 90's (Soundgarden and RATM) getting together and creating a new band (Audioslave) would be incredible. Like an alternative rock supergroup or something. But it sucked!!!! I was so dissilissioned with Audioslave's material that I gave up all hope for all of those involved. It killed a little bit of my soul.
Yeah I know, The tunes were so much better separate, but how they played was pretty diverse, so. It sucks they broke up though.

the quality on this isn't too good but yeah, that guys voice has so much range, and they were so much better than boring ass audioslave they were so good. It's all about Badmotorfinger and Superunknown. They weren't just a grunge band, they were very talented musicians. All the alternate tunings and time signatures and what not. The saddest thing though is seeing all the audioslave fans who have no idea what band he was in before audioslave. That's one thing I wish didn't get me so angry. Sucks to see my favorite bands go down the shitter because no one is interested in any music from before 6 years ago. I've literally had people say shit to me like, sure, Beastie Boys are good if you take a time machine back to 1994. Fucking cocksuckers |
eh, I never liked rage though. Great musicians, hated the frontman.
Rusty Cage is a fucking mighty song...saw them at lollapalooza '92. What struck me most about them was that Ben Shepard always had the coolest basses slung really low.

i'll check that out, yeah it pisses me off too, People don't take the time to know or listen to good music cause that's all they care about is shit like Fall out boy and that. I loved Rage though, Zach (lead singer) he entertained me tons with live shows, he was great. |
++ lol, chris' hair is cutein that vid. ahah
I can't stand Soundgarden or Audioslave. They just make me sad about Rage. Though I would have hated to see them live. Those shows were insane. It would be the equivalent of attending a riot, playing Rage in the background, and knowing that, somewhere, Zack is present.
i like the song black hole sun. audioslave is pretty bad.
Audioslave are on par with Creed.

Haydenasche if i met you in person id break your nose. Everything you say agitates me. U seem like a real snobby kunt, especialy when it comes to music. And a bit of a looser who spends his life thinking he's cool on the internet.....and ur 15 (or so)......i think ur an arse |
Don't worry, he's just a suburban 15yr old who only likes the strokes and shit like that. Take it with a grain of salt.
heh, I just remembered I was doing my old paper route when I heard they broke up, they announced it on Radio 104 WMRQ. Ah man those were the days. Soundgarden, Radio 104, and my paper route have all gone the way of the dodo
Quote:
HAHAHAHA. The Strokes are FAR WORSE than Soundgarden ever was. You obviously have no idea what I listen to. You like the Pumpkins Grain of Salt. |

Your lack of intelligence makes me ignore your posts. kthxmuch |
They're alright, the only song I really like is Black Hole Sun.
I believe I stole Superunknown from people I used to baby sit for? |
I saw Soundgarden play in a college basement club in 1989 to an audience of around 50. I normally have big problems with that sort of vocal style (and I for sure have some problems with the direction they took later on), but I have to say that show completely slayed. They were super dirgey and extremely heavy at the time, and really laid it down. One of the best shows I saw during the time I was in college.
