HaydenAsche 07.24.2006 04:22 PM

I usually don't. If I do, it is usually something I know I'll end up buying. I have nothing against uploading stuff for people.

youthoftomorrow 07.24.2006 04:26 PM

i download music all the time, but i've been buying music more lately seeing as i now have the money to buy it.

yar har flibbideegee? absurd.

krastian 07.24.2006 04:48 PM

I think that my generation is the last one (as a whole) who bought and still buy the majority of their albums....not that I don't download some stuff. By the time I graduated high school I had over 1000 cds. My little sister just graduated high school and she (like most people her age) have a stack of about 10 or 15 cds and a hard drive full of crap.....fuck that.

I love looking at my collection of music, all the different colored cases!

Savage Clone 07.24.2006 04:51 PM

If nobody is gonna pay for albums anymore, all live shows should be at least 25 bucks admission, even small club shows.
I don't really have a problem with downloading live sets or out of print stuff, but musicians should be able to have a fighting chance of making some money for all their efforts. Being a musician is not cheap.

I hate that. I have tons of music. I rarely ever download and there is never more than a gig of music on my computer. I have something like 600-700 cds and a measly 100 or so LPs.

I think that is why alot of bands are charging so much already. I feel bad for the bands but any band I really like I buy their albums. I even bought fucking Rather Ripped.

schizophrenicroom 07.24.2006 04:53 PM

i download to find out about new stuff, and if i like it and feel a connection to it, i go out and buy it or buy online.

i have around eighty cds and a few lps and seven inches.

krastian 07.24.2006 05:00 PM

I didn't say YOU Hayden....Jesus Christ. I read yr post. Didn't you understand when I said as "a whole." That doesn't mean everyone....especially those who are bigger music fans than the average listener.

Read my other reply to your post. I knew you didn't mean me. I was simply saying that I hate it when people are like your sister. I feel like the only person who listens to music.

Yeah I'm a part of that generation.

Cantankerous 07.24.2006 05:48 PM

No, you're not. You're younger than I am and I am not a part of that generation.

That is because you sprang fully-grown from smoldering ashes in blood and flame after an infant sacrifice in 980 B.C.

How old are you?

Savage Clone 07.24.2006 05:57 PM

She is 2,986 of your small-minded linear time "years," human.

I figured...

Well I consider myself apart of that generation because almost everyone I know pretty much downloads their music. Even my 17 year old sister.

acousticrock87 07.24.2006 08:28 PM

The Internet Generation is officially those born in 1985-1999. I would even be included in it, and I'm way older than you kids. Way.

I download music; a fair amount. Doesn't really bother me that much. I know artists should be supported, but essentially the plastic money is spent on is only for the sounds it emits. I get the same sound from an mp3. Selfish, I guess. I still try to buy as many albums as I can, as well, but my collection only contains 50-60 CD's.

I don't want to sell my music. I'd like to give it away because where I got it, you didn't have to pay for it.
