New Beck. woo.

a new beck tune.. pretty funky. http://www.ezarchive.com/blogsarefor...e*27s+Dead.mp3

nomadicfollower 08.02.2006 07:54 PM

Meh, it's ok.
The bass reminds me of Herbie Hancock's Chameleon.

k-krack 08.02.2006 07:55 PM

yeah,. it's nothing spectacular. kinda boring even... the discoey part towards the end is a bit over the top.

nomadicfollower 08.02.2006 07:56 PM

In fairness, though, I've never really been a Beck fan.

finding nobody 08.02.2006 07:58 PM

is this leaked?

k-krack 08.02.2006 07:59 PM

same here. i really liked lots of Guero thouhg.. it seems that many beck fans did not though. Loser is an awesome song..

k-krack 08.02.2006 07:59 PM

i dont know? i just got this link from a dude, its one song... its called Cell Phones Dead

finding nobody 08.02.2006 08:01 PM

that's cool.
i liked Guero alot. im not sure how much like this one..

k-krack 08.02.2006 08:03 PM

Gueros the only one i've really heard in full. i have always (not always.. maybe a couple months.....) wanted One Foot In The Grave (is that what its called?) ust because i liked the title and heard that its really wierd and cool. i came this cose (about $2.50) to buying Odelay at a used store.. as i said, i was $2.50 short.

finding nobody 08.02.2006 08:05 PM

one foot in the grave rules. good acoustic blues/folk tunes with a couple electric ones
odelay rules also. they're very different albums though

k-krack 08.02.2006 08:06 PM

yeah, so i hear.

Danny Himself 08.02.2006 08:13 PM

Beck is great. OFITG is my favorite LP.

dazedcola 08.03.2006 12:18 PM

yea one foot in the grave is actually my favorite beck record. It has a real stripped down acoustic feel to all the songs. Calvin johnson does back up vocals on some songs too wonderfully. Mellow Gold was ok, so was Mutations. I dont really like his hip hop collaborations that much to tell the truth.

Cantankerous 08.03.2006 12:19 PM

i am going to weep if he keeps making music.

foldback 08.03.2006 12:26 PM

This is further proof that Beck is the funkiest white man alive. I dig it.

Thanks for the track, too.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 08.03.2006 01:14 PM

fucking throwed ass song

Buy Odelay immediately.

lunberg 08.03.2006 01:52 PM

I hope it's just a fun song he did in like 3 seconds. It has a Guero feel to it, it's boring. Beck's loosing inspiration, I think. His last so-so record before Guero was Midnite Vulture (1999). I hope his next output will prove me wrong.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 08.03.2006 02:53 PM

another new song!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dec9DKwcChs

lunberg 08.03.2006 04:02 PM

That is bad. Beck is so predictable in the 2 songs you guys posted.

Someone send him Jim O'Rourke..

acousticrock87 08.03.2006 04:12 PM

Odelay is similar to Guero, IMO. Everything else he's done is completely different. I read that it's because he writes around 50 songs between albums, which leaves a huge undocumented gap in his style development.

IntoTheGroovey 08.03.2006 04:20 PM

They're pretty decent songs.

Daycare Nation 08.03.2006 06:57 PM

Beck has one good album (Sea Changes) and one just okay album (Mutations)...all the rest are extremely annoying pop music, with good bits interspersed here and there.

finding nobody 08.03.2006 07:00 PM

have you heard all of his records daycare?

(not trying to contradict you, just curious)

Daycare Nation 08.03.2006 07:02 PM

I haven't heard "One Foot in the Grave." I've heard all the rest, at least to my knowledge. There are a couple that I would almost buy but then there are three or four glaringly horrible songs that prevent me from doing so. I sold back Midnite Vultures because it was so horrendous.

Daddylikes 08.03.2006 08:13 PM

Remember guys, he's the one that said that Rather Ripped rules.

*cough* *cough* Midnite Vultures rox!

Daycare Nation 08.03.2006 08:17 PM

ewww, Midnite trash

foldback 08.03.2006 08:22 PM

Midnight Vultures is a party on a plastic disc. It's a classic!

Daycare Nation 08.03.2006 08:30 PM

I can't believe anyone would like Midnite Vultures and not Rather Ripped. It was utter tripe. I was so disappointed by it that I was actually angry that it sucked so much.

foldback 08.03.2006 08:36 PM

Hey, I like them both. I'lll put "Incinerate" next to "Debra" on a mix tape anyday.

So how weird does that make me?

i dont believe you! thats bull!

foldback 08.03.2006 08:41 PM

Oh c'mon... the last lingering "aattee..." in "Incinerate" would flow so nicely into "Debra."

I really want to get home and try this now.

HAHA. That's a cool description.

krastian 08.03.2006 11:27 PM

Midnite Vultures is the shit in my book.....I love all his stuff, but was kind of disappointed with Sea Changes (every song sounds the same) and Guero (didn't really want to listen to it after a few times).

touch me i'm sick 08.03.2006 11:29 PM

i'm still unsure how i feel about beck. like if you pick one of his songs it's etiehr amazing or i can't stand it

same with me.

touch me i'm sick 08.04.2006 01:29 AM

yeah like there are some songs where you're jsut liek, "is that seriously beck" and you have to do a doubletake and check again

k-krack 08.04.2006 01:30 AM

like these two... its kind of a shame 'cos Loser is such a great song! and almost all of Guero was awesome, and then this whitefunk... kind of a snooze.

static-harmony 08.04.2006 01:36 AM

I only have mellow gold the best song there is Soul SUckin Jerk
