dinosaur jr.

dinosaur jr. are coming to my town, i don't know whether i should go or not. i never heard any of their stuff. i would download some but don't know where to start. i heard sebadoh and i like them, so i assume i wouldn't mind dinosaur jr. but even if they are good is it worth going to their shows now considering they're "old" men. ? somebody please untangle me out of this web of confusion.

screamingskull 08.05.2006 01:25 PM

go!!!!!, they are not old!, jesus its not like they're in their 60's!, ive seen them twice and they rocked!!!!! i'd go just to see Lou Barlow alone. he's so lovely :)

One of my top 5 favorite albums.

Bug is also great, but Dinosaur is a hit or miss.

I say go! I wish I had the chance to see them. But bring ear plugs, they are so supposed one of the loudest live bands ever.

I would tend to agree.

Bollocks_to_Pop 08.05.2006 04:54 PM

One of the best live bands I've seen. You should go for sure.

acousticrock87 08.05.2006 05:09 PM

I don't really listen to them, but from what I've heard, I like Bug the most.

krastian 08.05.2006 06:50 PM

They just added a Baltimore show, but I don't know if I'll be able to go because I'm pretty low on cash.

I've seen the mighty dinosaur twice and god, they're fucking great live. Incredibly loud and incredibly fufilling.

Savage Clone 08.05.2006 09:04 PM

I saw them in the early 1990s. Loudest show I have ever seen, and fewer have been more boring. I honestly do not understand why so many people place this band on so high a pedestal. Mascis can play guitar, but his proficiency in flailing doesn't make the actual songs any more compelling. It certainly doesn't help to mask the caterwauling vocals.
I checked out the Rollins show vids to see if I had been missing anything.
I don't think I was. This music was not to my taste when it was current, and has aged terribly to my ears.
However, everyone else seems to think this stuff is awesome, so feel free to take this with a grain of salt if you so desire.

Inhuman 08.05.2006 09:12 PM

I'm seeing them with Sonic Youth in Montreal :D

all the free dinosaur jr you're heart could desire..

Rob Instigator 08.10.2006 02:37 PM

Dinosaur Jr is my third favorite band ever, behind the beatles and sonic youth of course.
GO SEE THE SHOW. it will eb loud, it will rock your asshole clean, it will shake the fake ass "rock" the "kids" are playing these days and drive it up your fucking brain stem.
the re-formed dinsoaur is a mighty mighty beast indeed and you will not be disappointed.

I love dinosaur jr.

this reunion tour is a cream dream for me, a fulfilment of years and years and years of hoping against hope.

_tunic_ 08.10.2006 03:18 PM

hey, if you go see them, bring earplugs! not that I've seen them myself, but that's what I always hear/read.
I love Dino Jr. but I prefer the newer stuff instead of the old tunes.
Anyways, I just checked on freesofree.net, and I can't find this show. Thought you may be interested in it. If you are registered to Dime you really should check out this one:

edit: nevermind the Dime link. I can't search right... it's here too:
