Good ol' Italian....Ham, provolone, and salami.

Threads about food do make me hungry.
Roast Beef, though corned beef would have been a welcomed addition. Thus the Rueben. |
Less gay threads tastes good.

Chicken style Quorn
|
I thought you Brits were mad about the Linda McCartney Foods range for veggies? Quorn's good though. Better tasting than straight forward tofu which you have to marinade first. Smoked salmon for sushi is nice.

I thought this thread was going to be about the music of Coldcut spookie!

turkey, with pastrami a close second.

salami, but it's the one I eat the less, for obvious reasons.
|
I can't believe Tofurkey got a vote. Although, as a non-vegetarian, quorn substitute can be quite nice, it's known as Sham in our house.

i like the quorn ones.

fucking shit
prosciutto is by far the superior product among the list, and i mean by far, and the reason it costs 3 times as much as the other crap is because the time & care it takes to produce such delicious object of my gluttony. honeyham vs prosciutto is like comparing french pastries with dunkin donuts for fucks sakes. well not that bad. though virginia ham should have been there if we're talking quality stuff. however-- the dad of a guy i knew was a salami maker, and i can attest for the quality of a handcrafted cured meat like that. still, prosciutto is king. and i don't even believe in monarchies. but there you have it. yes yes, i am a professed glutton, and few things get me as emotional as the talk of food. so if anybody feels criticized please don't take it personally. i'm just one of those people who would start a cult around food items. |
Jamon serrano!

okay, now you're talking! jamon serrano vs prosciutto di parma cured pig deathmatch? |

interesting match for sure. well, from what i had the chance to taste, i'd say i prefer jamon serrano... but i must say i'm probably more familiar with jamon serrano than prosciutto. now i'm hungry for some... |
people who get particularly emotional when talking about food disgust me.

smoked chicken
smoked turkey roast beef pastrami (if one must go salty then I prefer it over ham) If one buys these anywhere but the deli section at a grocery store, than they just may be an idiot that likes whitebread too. I eat tuna, egg or shrimp salad on sandwiches probably more than cold cuts though. I'd rather eat smoked chicken slices or rotisserie chicken chunks on a sandwich than chicken salad though. |

eh! you're accustomed to english food. i can't blame you for not being passionate about it. if you were italian on the other hand, or french, i'd think you might be mentally diseased. |
