remember when there was like 3 nirvana threads a week and everyone would get in a huge fight? those were the days

I remember once posting a nirvana thread and i got very nice reply from some genius who said

finding nobody, I had posted a similar message to a couple of other people posting about bands I didn't care for too much & then someone used that little move on you. (just to clarify to anyone reading) It wasn't me, I like Nirvana okay & I've never had a Kurt-was-overrated axe to grind.

i was posting about a band called the stinky puffs. I'd read about Kurt Cobain being a fan.
and that's what i posted. and just because i mentioned Kurt's name and someone got pissy. There was only one catagory on the old forum.
The sonic youth forum is/was my favorite of all the ones i've used. All I did was post about a band i was interested in

I think he was saying that Simon person was Lee's grandson. It is sort of worded that way.

Yeah, I remember the war on Nirvana threads. To be honest, at that point they were as irritating in terms of quantity and repetitiveness as pro/anti Rather Ripped threads are now. I also remember whose work it was, but I won't name him, I'll leave it for him to do that himself if he wants to.

There is one big difference, though. Nirvana sucks ass, and Rather Ripped rulez.

Yes, the old forum and it's category-less chaos...shit, why do we need all these stupid new features anyway (sorry chabib, I know you slaved over a hot computer, and for the most part I'm pleased but it just doesn't feel the same anymore)?

i miss the old board alot, i liked how every time there was a good sonic youth thread going someone would say "yeah that songs great, have you tried listening to it stoned" then every post after that would be agreing that the song does infact sound better stoned.

The old board was glorious. I loved the first few weeks of the new board as well. Chabib, truncated, and others have slowed their posting. I miss the sarcasm.

the old board was at it's best in the time between murray street and nurse, back in the days when everyone kissed my arse. the past 6 months have been a step up from that ridiculous nirvana period though.
