Is your site being monitored by the US government?

I checked my sites stats and they're watching me... carefully.

Lurker 08.29.2006 06:45 AM

Whats your site?

atari 2600 08.29.2006 09:58 AM

What are the stats that you mention monitoring?
You've piqued my curiousity.

I usually just monitor the click-through & conversion rates of my traffic and the amount being spent on adwords, of course.

I am lucky in that I know an expert in the field that set up proprietary software that does most of the work & safeguards against any gross egregiousness; I've known people to get slammed with invoices from our friends in Mountain View that were astronomical and that put them out of business because they didn't know what they were doing.

oop

it's not a business after all

Tokolosh 08.29.2006 11:36 AM

It's nothing really. I just ripped some gun camera footage of the NATO website and played with bush's words and the cunts are now watching every move I make. Fucking pathetic!

porkmarras 08.29.2006 11:49 AM

They probably have better targets to worry about.

Tokolosh 08.29.2006 11:55 AM

That's what I thought, and let me tell ya, I wouldn't be surprised if this sites being watched. This shit is happening on a global scale and you gotta be careful of what ya say, all the time.

porkmarras 08.29.2006 11:58 AM

Oh really?I'm not impressed by conspiracy theories in the slightest.

Tokolosh 08.29.2006 12:05 PM

You obviously haven't landed at JFK in NYC and gone through customs recently.

porkmarras 08.29.2006 12:09 PM

No.But remember where i live?

Tokolosh 08.29.2006 12:11 PM

Yeah, like Heathrow isn't tense lately.

porkmarras 08.29.2006 12:14 PM

And Heathrow is a bigger airport than JFK so they'd have a field time, those terrorists.Still,it doesnt stop me from doing what i have to do,go out and get packed like a sardine on a bus, train etc.

static-harmony 08.29.2006 12:56 PM

Well you also have to worry what you say over the phone.

atari 2600 08.29.2006 01:16 PM

I say bring i

t on. I'll get the Jeffersons to fuck them up.

acousticrock87 08.29.2006 01:18 PM

I could care less if they're listening to me. In fact, I would feel bad for the suckers. If they really want to listen in on my complaints about them, go right ahead. But it's gotta boring as hell.

static-harmony 08.29.2006 01:19 PM

What ever happened to "We trust the goverment," belief?

atari 2600 08.29.2006 01:20 PM

No one is listening to all the phone conversations in the databank. To do so is impossible. There is no system checking for "codewords" either to protect us from terrorism. That's all a bunch of hooey. There is a system like that in the UK though that works. The reason the phone records are kept is so that if someone is deemed a security threat by telling too much truth, the government can then go in & listen to phone records to dig up dirt on the accuser. It's J. Edgar Hoover's wet fucking dream come true.

acousticrock87 08.29.2006 01:22 PM

I was under the impression that that was how it worked, but I couldn't find confirmation so I didn't bring it up. But there's absolutely no way they can actually listen to us. They can just record us and recall it if the need arises. Which it shouldn't.

static-harmony 08.29.2006 01:24 PM

But still no goverment should ever do that to its country men and women.

acousticrock87 08.29.2006 01:29 PM

Yeah, but do what? It doesn't affect us at all, unless we're doing something that's blatantly asking for it. It's like keeping a fingerprint database. It's completely worthless unless someone deserves to have it used against them. I'm just going to be upset it they start giving me relationship advice in the middle of an over-the-phone fight.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 08.29.2006 01:39 PM

im in the clear, i support bush.

woot.

static-harmony 08.29.2006 01:41 PM

HAHAHA, that would be funny. However under no circumstances should they monitor us unless they have a warrant. It is not about helping in the war in terror, it is the goverment being paranoid. And that leads to a bad living state, for all the people of a country. Just remember the sixties, it was bad all over especially when Nixon took office.

unless they "deserve" it?

whatever, man...

the whole idea of keeping the database is so that the government can use the info against people that may try to spread the truth about their lies.

Exactly, static-harmony, the very idea of the domestic spying is against the foundation this country was built upon in the first place.

And you, sir, are monitored by us.Watch it!

atari 2600 08.29.2006 01:49 PM

You sir, are too paranoid.

& this coming from a renowned paranoiac.

static-harmony 08.29.2006 02:02 PM

Yeah this country was based on freedom, and being able to trust your goverment to do the right thing, but it is impossible now to even think about it. I am just sick and tired of everybody taking this as a joke.

gmku 08.29.2006 02:03 PM

I hope they are monitoring us, becuz then I'd like to use this opportunity to say, "The president's a war-pig fuck!"

static-harmony 08.29.2006 02:36 PM

that's a fact. the fbi file on john lennon said that they didn't consider him a threat because he was a doper. ha ha.

btw, the bill of rights celarly expresses "mistrust" of the government. and the separation of powers in the constitution as well. tyranny was very present in the minds of "the founding dead white males". har har.

anyway hm i don't like fascists. monitoring does not harm however-- your web is in a public space no? plus, how do you know it's the feds, maybe it's some nasa dude looking for a picture.

i agree this government is raping the bill of rights but too much paranoias distract from the real issues, i think.
