Saw Erase Errata and Talk Normal at this venue last month...J & P Show may just have to pay another visit.

Saw Lee play at Merkin quite a few years ago - great acoustics in that place.

I have refused to go to Glasslands since they started a show at 10:30 on a sunday nite with 5 bands and then made the 2nd band, from out of town, the only reason I was there, play last. It was Bardo Pond.

Trick and Dave Cromwell have goodies to share. Chris Habib filmed the entire set.

Highlights: Xtina, Lost, Fire Island, Hammer Drops and goddamn "Genetic" as an encore. I need this album. Why does March taunt me so?

jennthebenn 12.17.2011 09:04 AM

The Monkees cover was pretty class as well.

EVOLghost 12.17.2011 11:14 AM

Holy crap, he busted out GEnetic?

Cool man.

Here's a shorty:

http://vimeo.com/33847279

I stopped recording after some cement-head decided to jump up on stage there.

Anyone know the title of this song? Is it "Fire Island?"

Moshe 12.20.2011 01:37 AM

jennthebenn 12.20.2011 06:09 AM

"Hammer Blows"! Damn, my memory failed me. That's no good. If it had been
called "Hammer Brothers," I guarantee I wouldn't have confused the title.

DaveCromwell 12.20.2011 11:09 AM

Nice recap.

Though I'm not sure about "dudely" ;-)

Here's a few more vids from the show:

Thanks for the lot of Youtube videos. It's nice to have some material, it seems nyctaper's recording will be available until March of next year to coincide with the release of the album.

Visitordesign posted this tweet today:

just sent @leeranaldo an edit of PAINT IT GREEN. live at glasslands. will link as soon as it's approved.

and then a little later

PAINT IT GREEN video for lee approved! as soon as we get a better live audio source, I'll drop it in and re-upload/link.

Good news!!

jennthebenn 12.20.2011 04:58 PM

Hell yeah.

DaveCromwell 12.23.2011 02:48 PM

OK - a little help needed.

What are the titles to these two songs?

http://youtu.be/bkXmVrqWWGo

That one has lyrics that go:

"was it something I said" and "back to you"

and this one:

http://youtu.be/LNo-KwoBm3Q

With lyrics that go:

"last night I stopped by your house, in the rain - but could see you were not at home" and makes references to "rocky top"

As far as I can work out, those two songs are either:

T.N.C.

Fire Island

Hammer Blow

or

Shouts.

Can anybody help match up the songs to the correct title?

stu666 12.23.2011 03:33 PM

This is shouts... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhmOZwBO01s

so they must be two of these:

T.N.C.

Fire Island

Hammer Blow

jennthebenn 12.23.2011 04:42 PM

http://vimeo.com/34039939

Video of "Waiting on a Dream," as shot by Mr. Habib, as seen also on Steve's Facebook as now seen here.

stu666 12.23.2011 05:03 PM

If Waiting on a Dream = T.N.C (title not confirmed?)

then the videos Dave is trying to identify must be Fire Island and Hammer Blow, right?

If you see which video you filmed first Dave then you will be able to work out the name from the setlist...

Thanks, stu666.

Makes the most sense. ;)

Sure - I'll post when I find out.

I'm presently sending the source material to Lee. He's happy to have it all for his archives, so if anybody knows the names of the songs - you'd figure it would be him. :p

One would certainly hope.

Folks like Dave, Trick and Chris play an invaluable role in the capture and perpetuation of brilliance. I salute them with the pair of coffees I'm going to need to not fall asleep at work.

Ha! Thanks, Jenn.

I'll virtually join you with a cup of coffee myself right now.

OK - Lee in fact does know the names of his own songs :p

He got back to me with the titles.

This is one is "Fire Island (Phases)"

http://youtu.be/bkXmVrqWWGo

(though he noted that I "cut off the last section of the song" - probably because stage-jump-up-dude was bumping into me . . . )

and the second one I didn't have a title for (until now):

http://youtu.be/LNo-KwoBm3Q

"Hammer Blows"

Thanks, Lee!
