i'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow
 

and i am not looking forward to it. i have to miss two days of school and will sit around on painkillers for both of them (and not even any cool narcotics). on the plus side, as much Jell-O and flat soda as i can handle.

That sucks.

I love vicodin.

It really sucked when I got mine pulled out. It took me two weeks to be (completely) healed. I could eat easily after the first week, but I had to make sure that food didn't get back to far in my mouth, cause it would hurt if it did.

How many are you getting pulled? I had all 4 of mine done at once.

they're going to pull three of mine. one of them is too close to my nasal cavity.

I had two of mine pulled out August of last year. It was horrible. They didn't even put me to sleep, they just numbed my mouth. I was awake for the whole thing. I could hear the cuts and the blood coming out. It hurt too. When they finished, I could feel my entire body relax. One of them was especially hard to get. It was deep and hard to get a hold of. That one hurt the most after. It hurt like hell. And the worst part, they didn't even give me any drugs. They just told me to take some Tylenol if it hurt. I was supposed to go back January to get the other two removed but I'm scared shitless to go through the same thing again.

fuck them.

no, they won't. the surgeon that's doing the operation doesn't think that narcotics are necessary for this kind of operation. they're going to use anesthesia during the operation (but i won't actually be unconcious) and then give me some lesser painkiller afterward.

Fuck That Surgeon.

tell them to give it to you or they can kiss your ass.

Yeah that guys a fucking crock . I do know two people who were 'ok' and went to work several hours later without too much hell , but i personally went through a few days of bullshit and i know im not the only one . tylenol didnt do shit .

i'm telling you, if they won't give it to you, throw a shitfit.

BEFORE surgery. Then, you'll know if you're getting drugs or not.

It's not such a bad ordeal. I had all four of mine out in the one go, they were all impacted so I had to get them cut out of bone. I remember a night or two waking up in extreme pain, but overall, you get painkillers which are good, so you just take them and lay in bed for a few days watching DVDs.

i haven't been to the dentist in about eight years. and it shows.

I was supposed to make an appointment to get mine pulled back in May. I still haven't done shit about it. I should probably do that soon.

i still have my wisdom teeth. the top two are ok but the bottom ones are fucking agony. i told the dentist who said that she could take them out but i would be in substantial pain for weeks. not a good option, not even for the medication.

Ugh , yeah i had to get mine cut out too . one of em was diagonal . i got T3 (tylenol caffeine + codeine ) which do fuck all . if i had said i was allergic to codeine maybe they'd have given me the goods .

wisdom teeth are useles recesses of evolution.
I only have one and it's twisted, with two tails and is almost perpendicular to all the others.
My dad's dentist but he said: better not to take it off, let's wait and so he just cut the flesh around it... so painful when anestetics go away... ah!
I was on tachidol (paracetamol+codeine!) for three days...codeine+THC is a terrific combination...

I've only had one of my wisdom teeth out, but it came out like a dream. I didn't even realise he'd removed it until he was waving it around in front of my face.

so, i leave in about five minutes. i took some valium about 45 minutes ago (as per the doctor's instructions).

i don't think i'll be posting for a day or two.

i think i may have already made a post about this, but whatever.

about a month ago, i went to the oral surgeon's office to get a consultation about getting my wisdom teeth removed. they took a few x-rays and while the surgeon was showing them to me and explaining what she was going to do, she points to my back, bottom, left molar (in front of the wisdom tooth) and goes "hmmm, that's odd." now, teeth are supposed to have two little prongs sticking into the gum. on the x-ray the roots of the tooth looked blurry, like they had moved while the photo was being taken. the surgeon said she wanted to take another x-ray just to see if it would happen again. when the second x-ray came back, it was the same thing: it looked like the roots had moved. so she says "Brendan, this is very strange, it appears that this tooth has an extra set or roots. i've never seen anything like this." so, i've been telling everyone i'm a mutant.

and as for how the surgery went, i don't remember shit. i think they gave me an IV, but after that there's nothing. my next memory was my mom waking me up and telling me i had to eat something before i could take any pills. and the fuckers still didn't give me any narcotics. they gave me something called meperidine and some antibiotics. and my teeth fucking hurt.
