I thing "Shake that arse" sounds much better. I agree to the rest. |
ass is the best
|
arse, to be sure.
|
Arse but i like ass too.
|
I can't choose. Sometimes a quick under the breath "asshole!" is good, sometimes a long drawn out "arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrse hoooooooooooooooooooole!" works better.
|
It's not a matter of cool spelling or pronounciation like 'sk8ter' or some shit, it's how certain countries spell the actual word. In Australia if you were to spell it 'ass' in an english test, you'd be incorrect.
Obvious? I hope so. |
fuckin' ass n' shit.
|
ass
|
there is no r in ass.
|
ARSE!
of course |
My vote tipped the poll!
Arse all the way! |
Definitely arse. Except if you're talking about gettin' some, in which case it's ass. But far and away the most correct use is arse.
|
I say ass when using it in the "Shes got a pert ass" but I use arse when saying arsehole. So now you know.
|
I live in America.
If I said "arse" I would sound ridiculous. "Ass" is the only option for me. |
There are a few american expressions that you hear kids using in London.Damn it ,for example,, is popular as well as dude and the occasional ass.
|
In the UK, the fully pronounced "arse" is a word that you would only expect to hear come from the mouths of the upper-middle and upper classes these days. Imagine Prince Charles saying "ass" and then "arse", and see what I mean.
I'm more likely to use the word "bum" myself. |
Without a doubt 'Arse', gotta love the arastrocracy lol...I love wonderfully british expressions (but then again I love the word 'Dude'...best word to ever come out of the US), even though I'm from Cardiff, I'm often told I sound like I'm from Cambridge...I have no idea how that came to be, I've never tryed to affect any accent.
|
ass!
|
Arse.
Ass/asshole, by association with Americans, just doesn't sound right coming from other people. |
as an american i am not allowed to say "arse", and ashamed as i am of my nationality, i have forbidden myself to say "ass".
therefore i go with RUMP or BOTTOM, depending on context |

assclown and arseclown don't sound the same.
whoever gets to say "arseclown" deserves a beating. |

Bottom or bum, NEVER ass or arse.

i really like that expression too, for some reason (but i am not a native speaker and i wonder if i have actually ever used that expression myself) |
I just say ass but I like the sound of arse, so I say arse.

Got to agree with you, why didn't I fucking think of that. Totally repped. |

"can't be assed" doesn't sound right as opposed to "can't be arsed" |
In America we just say "I don't wanna."
|
Finally, a significant poll!
|
Voted for arse.
I always say 'arse' (even if I do sound pompous) and never 'ass'. |
I say 'arse' and I spell it 'arse' because I'm Australian. If I were to say 'ass' I'd sound like a fucking idiot just like an American would saying 'arse'. I don't even have to think about which of the two I say, it's always 'arse'. I find it funny people find one 'cooler' or not.

Arsch
|
It's arse. And Ass is:
a long-eared, slow, patient, sure-footed domesticated mammal, Equus asinus, related to the horse, used chiefly as a beast of burden. Although assclown is allowed because it is a fantastic insult. |
this thread stayed longer than i expected
