dear lord, no, i'm not wearing pastels.

would it be socially inept of me to wear a black silk/satin slip dress with lace at the edges?

well it's not the actual wedding, it's just the party/reception. i have a huge assortment of things i could actually wear although none of them are seemingly formal enough to wear to a wedding party.

yeah. fuck them.

i'm sure i will have a decent time for there will be lots of free booze.

i'm sure by the end of the night i will have either made a spectacle of myself, as i usually do, or have moved to another party in which case it won't matter what i have on.

going with nothing on is considered of poor taste since you may take the attention away from the marrying couple.

just remember that and you'll be fine.

i know! i have fucking great style, not to toot my own horn or anything, but i need direction in terms of specific events because i have so many clothes and i am kind of inept so i don't know what to wear to anything.

i did end up wearing the black slip and nobody made any comments or anything and i didn't get too loaded or make an ass of myself and it was kind of boring although my prescence was kind of obligatory.
i'm not really a shocking kind of person, though. i don't intentionally play it safe but i'm not intentionally outlandish either.
