just wondering who on here has been a sy devotee the longest. anyone see them in '81? Anyone see an early branca set? i'd be more curious than impressed, so no bullshit stories, please.

I saw them first in 2002. Does this make me young?

Got to know them in 1999. Missed them 98 and 96. Since then they haven't come to Austria. I hope soon!

The first time that i listened to any of their records was at the time Daydream Nation came out but i haven't seen them live till years later and the first album of theirs that i have purchased was Goo.

I saw them in '92. First got into them with Goo, 1-2 years before.

I got into them around 86-87. First saw them in 1989 or 1990.

I first saw them in 2005.

well to be acurate jeff (aka bloodbeach) had nothing to do with the video even surfacing, cause it was a VHS release overseas and somebody uploaed it slsk about 2 years ago(he is certainly in the shots for sure),

jenn found him on slsk years back and got the pics and soon after chris lawerence got ahold of them (from stonehouse not jenn i believe)

oh and since i am here jenn has been a fan since 1990 after seeing the Kool Thing video and her brother had Goo (the only sibling of hers i haven't met, i don't even think he likes SY anymore)

I started getting into them around 2000 after getting tired of Nirvana. I first saw them in 06.

Well I haven't seen any concerts (but I will soon) but I did get into them when I was about 14.

I think I was 14 or so when I got into Sonic Youth. Haven't been able to see them play though.

First saw them in 1988 (Daydream Nation tour).

Saw them for the first time on the Nurse tour in 2004. Started getting into them a few years before.
