Harrowing albums.

There are a couple of albums that I don't really listen to...I just kinda experience them. The First Throwing Muses album, and "Heavens to Betsy's Calculated" album. I am just now getting into Xiu Xiu, and they are pretty intense.
Any more recommendations? The more intense the pain the better.

blue sunlover 10.31.2006 05:05 AM

you want pain?Take more drugs.

Glice 10.31.2006 05:22 AM

Hijokaidan. Jandek. Diamanda Galas. Bits of Throbbing Gristle (Hamburger Lady/ Weeping/ Slug Bait). Borbetomagus. Other things. Someone else will have a more comprehensive list I'm sure.

syr 3

the ikara cult 10.31.2006 12:41 PM

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers is lyrically heavy. And ive read it described as Joy Division Meets Big Black. So dig in.

h8kurdt 10.31.2006 12:48 PM

Johnny Cashs 'A hundred highways' is a fucking hard listen. I agree with the Daniel Johnston one too.

Massive Attacks 'Mezzanine' album is a pretty bleak offering.

LPD are not goth. Just because goth types like them does not mean they aren't a weirdo psychedelic band.

I think a lot of the time they sound an awful lot like Gong.

Comus are a fucking folk group from the 60s, for god's sake.

porkmarras 10.31.2006 06:09 PM

To Clone:
