My older brother lost all of his CDs in the Denver airport
 

He had them all in a big CD book and was somehow seperated from it. And that really blows for me because I was rather looking forward to exploring his collection in more depth than I have before (he's home for spring break). He is the one who introduced me to SY and countless other awesome bands and now he has NO music. So, anything that I remotely liked in his collection is now on my already teeming Purchase List. FUCK!

That's why I keep the cases, & have a 300 disc holder.

That sucks.....it happened to a friend of mine too.

But, maybe there's a chance if someone snatched it up, they'll be introduced to great new music.

Yes, someone will soon start posting on this board about how he found a bunch of great CDs in the Denver airport.

my house got robbed ages ago and alllllll my cd's got stollen. thats sucked, i had to start all over again.

Shit, that really sucks. I'd hate that to happen to me.

I never carry my CD's around, I burn all my CD's to ATRAC CD's and then just use those, so if I lose them, I can just burn them over again

yeah, i used to carry around loads of cds all the time, thank god for the invention of the iPod.

we have this shop called Kashmart , and it sells second hand cds, its the best when a good house gets robbed because then the theiving junkies sell the cds to kashmart and i can get them for 7$

That sucks.

That's why I never ever ever !! carry original copies of my music outside the house. CD-R or cassette tape copies only!! for road trips, even if it's just for across town.

Hmm, yeah, that sounds very familiar! Only it was my daughter ripped me off. I open the CD case one day and find half of the CDs are missing, all of my favorites, and a lot of them, at the time, rare or very hard to replace (like the original release of Loveless, late 80s release of Modern Lovers, and the like). Turns out she was taking them to those Mr Money places to support her pot habit. God, I was pissed off.

That's half the reason I became the vinyl freak I am today. I swore then that I'd replace everything that was missing on vinyl, and I almost have. And I decided that I'd make most of my purchases on vinyl. Mr Money and those kinds of places are only interested in CDs, and her friends mostly don't or didn't play vinyl.

Even though my daughter is now out of the house, I still keep my collection behind lock and key.
