"I'm not homophobic, but...."

EMMAh 11.28.2006 09:21 PM

I still haven't seen this. Actually, reading this makes me want to see it even more.

famous final words

i watched it a couple months ago, it is worth a viewing at least once, hell even brown bunny is worth viewing once (but don't pay for it)

Alex's Trip 11.28.2006 09:31 PM

I recorded it on IFC or something and I couldn't finish watching it...

Prisstina 11.28.2006 09:34 PM

You suck, WHOREOHSCOPE.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 11.28.2006 10:22 PM

I can understand someone not liking the movie, I probably wouldn't. . .but just ripping it for not being accurate to Kurt Cobain, when it is a piece of fiction not nonfiction.

king_buzzo 11.29.2006 02:46 AM

last days suck

static-harmony 11.29.2006 02:47 AM

It was completely boring.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 11.29.2006 02:48 AM

last days was okay.

static-harmony 11.29.2006 02:49 AM

I could not hear a word he whispered throughout the movie.

king_buzzo 11.29.2006 02:50 AM

last days is gay

Tokolosh 11.29.2006 05:37 AM

I saw it a while ago, and I didn't think it was that bad. This Zorn guy takes it way to serious and literal.
I agree with WHOREOHSCOPE's post, "Those two guys who have sex don't have anything to do
with a fictional representation of Dave+ Krist".

What I liked about the film, were the long slow dolly shots across the garden
or through the window while he walks around inside.
Some of them last like 5 min.
I'd watch it again, just for the aesthetics... and Kim's cameo role. :)

alteredcourse 11.29.2006 05:57 AM

though that is a good point , nefeli , i foudn myself far too disturbed by that movie for the bad to be redeemed by any of the possible good .
i didnt like it at all and the only thing that stuck with me was the thought that "if this van sant was out to make me feel.....very angry, then he succceeded" and thats all he did .

finding nobody 11.29.2006 07:19 AM

I liked the parts where the gay layden down on the ground and listened to "Venus In Furs"

king_buzzo 11.29.2006 07:37 AM

some parts are hillarious, like when he gets owned by fallng down the hill

lucyrulesok 11.29.2006 08:17 AM

I kinda wanted to see this, but it just looked slightly too bad to go to the cinema for...
I find Gus Van Sant's work pretty interesting, and some of his films have been really good. I just can't shake the feeling that he thinks he's incredibly cool, and that irritates me.

jon boy 11.29.2006 08:20 AM

i loved drugstore cowboy and my own private idaho but was less impressed with last days. but i didnt hate it. it did give a sense of isolation and whatnot but it just missed the mark somewhere for me. still ok though.

whorefrost 11.29.2006 09:03 AM

I saw it at the cinema and thought it was rather great. Actually at the time I thought it sort of sucked but it was one of those resonant films that lingers in yr psyche... by the time it hit FilmFour and I watched it again, I thought it was awesome.

toxic johnny 11.29.2006 11:25 AM

Good boy

Danny Himself 11.29.2006 11:26 AM

I rented it out when it came out and I thought it was shite. How predictable was 'Venus In Furs'?

I wouldn't know, it has been years since I stopped going to Nirvanaclub.com and I haven't seen the movie.

What was the meaning of the gay sex scene?

The filmmaker's gay. I guess he figured that if heterosexual filmmakers can present hetero sex for no reason then he can do the opposite too. He did the same thing in Elephant (no sex, just kissing)

Prisstina 11.29.2006 04:47 PM

It was an alright film. Hard not to see the main character portraying Cobain, though.
