what are you doing right now?

I'm just at work. I hated the job I just had (cleaning windows) so I got a new job somewhere else, but I don't start it until mid-Feb, so my old job BEFORE window cleaning said I could come back temporarily until I started at the new place. So basically I have the same job I used to have, but with no pressure and very little responsibility. It doesn't get much better.

So what are you up to right now?

EMMAh 12.19.2006 03:46 PM

Hey, I like Leftover Crack, they have a different sound... they sound like they are some new wannabe hardcore punk rock band, but you can tell that they don't take themselves really seriously...

Savage Clone 12.19.2006 03:52 PM

Getting another resume together, highlighting a different slant of my professional qualifications.

k-krack 12.19.2006 03:52 PM

Grubbing will, no doubt, entail my leaving. Probably something with egg. Probably an egg sandwich. See ya.

Hip Priest 12.19.2006 03:52 PM

Finishing installing stuff on our brand new laptoppy thing.

It's called 'Compy 2'.

That's right; I'm back, and I'm faster and bigger than ever. And I'm in widescreen

Woo-hoo.

No, I was just playin' around. I'm not into them, but I don't have anything directly against them. I would have said the same thing if she said any number of new-punk bands, to be honest!

My friend has a shuffle, and from what I hear it's good, except good luck hearing any specific song if you want to, because it ONLY shuffles...

They're like, hardcore/ska/punk. As for not taking themselves too seriously, I think that's better than being overly serious about something, then you just get obnoxious.
Leftover Crack is an insane band in my opinion, there's no one like them.

Norma J 12.19.2006 04:40 PM

I pretty much hate ska music.

afterthefact 12.19.2006 04:41 PM

They aren't typical ska though, cause I usually don't like ska either...

porkmarras 12.19.2006 04:52 PM

Came back from the shops.Doing my laundry, some writing, drawing, reading, listening to music and chatting bollocks on the internet. They are all beautiful luxuries.

afterthefact 12.19.2006 07:38 PM

I'm finally getting off work, 2 hours later than I should be... I'm starting to remember why I quit this job the first time...

Phlegmscope 12.19.2006 07:47 PM

I'm writing a visual memo about unorthodox / experimental use of typography in different art movements. My deadline is tomorrow night, it's 2.40 am and I'm only about halfway through. Plus the whole thing is a bit crappy. There's not much I can do in order to make it more coherent.

nomadicfollower 12.19.2006 07:56 PM

Puzzling over a quite good prank call...I searched the number and whoever it was lives near me, but the name was unfamiliar. Unlike anything I've heard.
Apparently the person wanted to know if I was going to take complete custody of Violet and Clouse (?) and not take their money. I attempted to go along, but got frustrated and hung up.

Norma J 12.19.2006 08:22 PM

HAHA.

finding nobody 12.19.2006 08:28 PM

You should check out some of the original ska music that originated from the Dub/ Reggae scene. You may enjoy it more than what punks have mixed it with! Personally I don't mind a lot of the ska, I'm just not a big fan when it comes to bands like that one that sings "Super orgy porno party" that completely murder the whole concept of ska by devouring the bassline and adding a typical american drumbeat to it. Oh, and bad vocals. And lyrics.

Norma J 12.19.2006 08:49 PM

I'm not a fan of reggae though either. But I understand what you're getting at.

Huh...well....weird...

finding nobody 12.19.2006 08:55 PM

Im assuming you don't catch the reference?

Inhuman 12.19.2006 09:04 PM

I'm taking a break from working out at the moment, and listening to Plug (Gotta love Luke Vibert!).

Over the Christmas break I'm mainly just going to be reading about bands, expanding my music knowledge, and working. I'm really looking forward to what's coming up!

against_the_grain 12.19.2006 09:25 PM

Listening to 'Loop Cat' off SY's Destroyed Room.

Cool ambience. I also listened to 2 Eno ambient discs today. I'll put on Slim Westerns vol. 2 next to continue my ambient disposition for the day. I'm in a spaced-out state of mind. This stuff is tranquilizing. It helps the pain.

I didn't at the time. It makes sense now, though. Weird that some one would stage a prank concerning those books.

jon boy 12.20.2006 06:40 AM

at work slacking off. i am a temp with internet access what else do they expect?

my boss is listening to the theme from postman pat in norwegian.

ALIEN ANAL 12.20.2006 06:51 AM

watching we can be heroes, its so funny. I dunno if people outside of australia will find it funny, but its very good, very well done.

afterthefact 12.20.2006 07:46 AM

right now it's about 7:40 in the AM (and you're watching Perspectives... sorry, had to do it) and I am running late for work, but I don't really care, because I haven't had the internet for the past few days, minus my time at work. Whoever I've been leeching off of with my WiFi card must have had it shut off or something, I don't know. Whatever the case, I'm making up for lost time, and my boss can deal with it :)
