Shentov, are you sure that's the right link for Electric Dragon? It says they are from California. Not to my taste either, but it's beside the point if they're not Bulgarian.

Mute Era on youtube!

I thought that was yr band...? Or some other boardies' band?? Regardless, I've had them for a while, and they rock.

Inhuman 01.07.2007 02:47 AM

Damn, I'm going to have a listenfest when I get home to hear these! I really want to get into more music this year instead of listening to the same old stuff all the time. I'll subscribe this thread

schizophrenicroom 01.07.2007 02:57 AM

i tried to find some good bands from my city, but after going about 20 pages in and finding they all sound the same.. i'll spare you guys.

Aww, talk about it. Ottawa's pretty much only about hardcore, and the bandlistings page on Punkottawa.com is horrendous because people only post about starting new metal or hardcore punk bands. A few good ones in my city though.

Sleeping Pilot
PM me if you want their album!
Robot Kill City One of the non-hardcores. If you like Q and not U, this is for you

There's not a great deal of great lcoal bands in my area. There seems to be like no rock bands. Most just seem to cliche and whats trendy or whatever. I mean there just doesn't seem to be many of them bands where you go "Ok, they've just got it". But then there's porbably loads of great shit out there but I'm too much of a cynic to notice.

Everyneurotic 01.07.2007 02:10 PM

Onani Nic 01.07.2007 07:33 PM

I think Sydney rules at the moment on a more underground level.

http://www.myspace.com/happygohatefuck
They don't have any good recordings yet but they are probably one of my favourite live bands. Kind of grindcore meets free jazz.

http://www.myspace.com/deadfarmers
Their demo recordings don't really do justice to them. Young dudes getting way better every show.

http://www.myspace.com/moonmilk
nice ambient duo.

http://www.myspace.com/glacialavatar

http://www.myspace.com/kiosk

http://www.myspace.com/castings
a great experimental 6 piece that noone gives a shit about here. They recently put out a CD on AMerican Tapes.

Pax Americana 01.08.2007 01:25 AM

I'm pretty sure there aren't any good local bands around here.

HairwayToSteven 01.08.2007 10:30 AM

These dudes are sweet:

I'm sure there's more, I just can't think of any others at the moment.

www.myspace.com/carprocks

A band from my town called Carp. They sound to me like Fugazi and the Toadies had a baby.

http://www.myspace.com/aircraftattackingbritain

Sort of droney experimental soundscape type stuff. I've only seen them once because they don't seem to play out that much

www.myspace.com/gindrinker

Local Fall-esque band. They claim they don't sound like the Fall. They do. They are decent.

www.myspace.com/drunkgranny

Local riot girl-ish types. They're involved in putting on gigs and stuff as well and are super nice.

http://www.myspace.com/thevoiceslostinconfusion

From Port Talbot rather than Cardiff but on a local label. Shoegazey.

Iain 07.05.2007 06:52 AM

There are a bunch of others that might be known to people eg Los Campesinos (Indie darlings of the month), Victorian English Gentlemans Club (Artrocker cover stars) but they are mostly nonsense. And Future of the Left (ex-Mclusky)...I forgot them.
