Arrange your schedule so you're always slightly late for something so you have to rush? |
I started learning about myself and how to be less paranoid when I stopped playing music while walking and just walked. My mum sort of taught me this. I walked and walked for miles. I love walking for miles, no music on. It sorts out my paranoid self.

hm i ll try this without music.
i always used music to overshadow my thoughts. and i will too start walking/running with my mother. she goes during the afternoons. did some walking though today. walking is rather painful for me. i get this attraction by houses that sometimes can be unbearable for few moments. it can be the simple curiosity about how a place looks like from the inside, how its decorated etc, or a 'what would i do if i lived here' thing, or the worst 'i wish i lived here' thing. i have a major soft spot on houses with porches or balconies near the ground. |
one thing to remember is that you need time to recover, and that muscles will develop much faster than tendons and connective tissue when you're an adult.
therefore go slow and be very patient so that your muscles don't overstrain or *aghhh* tear a tendon. so start walking before running, but at first don't even walk every day so all that connective tissue in the feet etc. has time to recover. people who restart exercising get injured too often and that's why they abandon it soon after. the trick is to do it like a very slow cooking, like a winter stew. lots of patience and time to rest in between, let the muscles develop, let the connective tissue catch up with the muscle, and you'll go on forever. cross-training helps with this if you're trying to establish a daily workout schedule. e.g. you could combine w/ pilates for core development and an upper body workout, so e.g. 1 day walk/run, 1 day core, 1 day arms/back/chest, repeat the cycle to allow a 2-day rest period for each muscle group, plus one day you stay in bed eating pastries and watching james franco movies to complete the week. |

Sometimes I walk past a business that is empty and the people inside are looking out and I can feel their desperation for just one customer, now I know why my grandmother would always buy something when she would browse in a store. But you might try some zen- sounds like you need to empty your mind, not free it more. |

Try walking down the street with my GF, especially if the houses have cats in the windows. I like houses that have little spires. |
