Why do you hate Elvis costello?
 

He's my fav, but I understand some people don't like him. Not sure WHY people don't like him, so I'm giving you out there one chance to vent and I will listen to your comments with tolerance. One time deal.

AS far as Costello goes.. The only album I ever heard I just couldn't get into

He's alright. He scores points because he's from Liverpool.

He's boring.That in no way means he hasn't written some good songs.He bores me but that doesn't mean he's boring.

His first few albums were great, and every once in awhile he puts out a new good one. The Delivery Man was a pretty good recent one.

My Aim Is True is so fucking good. She's Watching the Detectives is such a sweet song.

i dont hate elvis costello. to be honest i really dont know a huge amount about him.

I don't hate Elvis Costello. His music has never thrilled me but he's not worth hating. He's a little fly. Just ignore him.

also i think elvis costello is for people who like the idea of being into music but can't get their head round the real stuff

His stuff with the Attractions is great, some of the best "new wave" of it's day. Plus he had the class to bring Suicide on tour and start riots. Some of the later stuff is good in a classic rockish vein, but therein lies the problem - as time went on he might as well be Bob Seger.

I've never understood the whole thing with Suicide.They couldn't have been anymore different musically and aesthetically from him and the audience hated them even more for that.
