buyin books buyin books tralalalalahaha!
So I'm going to make an amazon order... I want that free shipping (without it might as well go buy them at the store)...
so far i have set up... bukowski--- probably post office unless some suggests that ham on rye, factotum, or playthe piano are way better. probably... the people of paper - salvador placensia. Very strange new book involvinfg an orgami surgeon and the characters of the book rebellinng agianst the author.. who happens to be SATURN! sounds like a pretty cool book. Now I need at another book--- any suggestioons? I've been pretty into poetry lately (writing it) so what are some good people, and books by them, to get. I read a lot of kerouac (partly why i'm getting other books-- too much-- i had to stop myself from buying dr sax earlier today - reasoning i'm in the middle of desolation angels right now). Ummm, yea! |
Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, if you want to get into poetry. As far as fiction I'd suggest A Voice Through a Cloud, by Denton Welch for something serious, or Decline and Fall, by Evelyn Waugh for something entertaining. Both English authors, and prose masters.

I don't read much poetry but one of the books I enjoyed most last year was "Glass, Irony and God" (poem compilation) by Anne Carson which I plan on ordering for myself soon.
Also enjoyed "Autobiography of Red" (a novel in verse) and "Grief Lessons: Four Plays by Euripides" also by Carson, as far as poetry goes. |
Pick up yr copy of Leaves of Grass and read these two poems:
"Gods" "Pioneers! O, Pioneers!" |
howl and other poems by ginsberg
william carlos williams burning in water, drowning in flame-bukowski |
