Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra
I dont really see them mentioned here much. I love their classic song "some velvet morning" with that weird contrast of being druggie one minute and then really innocent. You guys have to download this song if you haven't heard it already.
Any other fans out there? I want to know if its worth getting a greatest hits comp of their stuff or if their only credible song was "some velvet morning"? |
I consider "Nancy & Lee" to be essential.
It has all the great ones on it: Some Velvet Morning, Sand (which Neubauten later covered), Summer Wine, Jackson, Sundown Sundown. I love Lee's voice so much; this is really some of my most favorite pop music ever. This album can be had easily and cheaply too, which is a nice bonus. ![]() |
Get anything by Lee Hazlewood.

I love Nancy and Lee so bad. Has anyone heard the cover of "Some Velvet Morning" by Nick Cave and Lydia Lunch? amazing for sure

yea actually i just downloaded that and they do a great version of it.Cave is perfect as the role of the flawed druggie. |
I think you'll find it was Rowland S Howard who did a version with Lydia Lunch.
And you should check out Einsturzende Neubauten's version of Sand as well. |
All i have to say is get anything they've done together and don't let it go.
