I saw them last night in northhampton and it was great. They kept switching instruments every 5 or so songs. The songs sounded great live though and Im glad I went. They still had a lot of energy to them.Gaffney shot down anyone yelling out requests, so dont bother. Also at the show kurt fedora (goblehoof)stage dived (I thought he was a maintenance guy) and nobody caught him. He just hit the floor flat and knocked himself out.Gaffney said he wasnt on drugs, just too many beers.I saw a taper too, so maybe the show will surface.

hey i went to show the following night in boston and it was even better. The playing was more on fire and the crowd responded a lot more than at the northhampton one. They even did 3 encores!!! I've never seen any band do that before. The setlist was a great cross section of all their material. If you guys get the chance go and see them.Has anyone else on the board got the opportunity to see them already ?

don't have a set list from the dc show, but about much of the same, jenn i think may do a review of it at somepoint
some highlights: during Bent Moustache's set Ajay's bass went out of tune, and got on his cell telling the guy "can you come down here, my bass is out of tune", then the guy turns out to be Lou jumps up on stage and tunes it, that was interesting i guess he works on retainer Lou knocked over his wine glass and it broke while fidling with the amp, he heard the crowd fawn over something then he looked over, and played it up by putting his hands to his face in disgust and one more thing i shall show you in pictures in a sec, but first some live action ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

now here was the most interesting part of the show, this guy who was standing next to me, yells out to Lou, he can't hear his vocals, and Lou asked him if he knew how speakers work, and went on a rant about "This is PA, this is Speaker, this is a Monitor", and the guy just said i just can't hear your vocals, so Lou told him to get on stage and hold his head against the monitor for "Beauty of the Ride"
![]() ![]() ![]() after the song they shooed him off claiming that Eric was getting too distracted:rolleyes: |
![]() ![]() ![]() rest here http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y48...20dc%204-3-07/ Lou cracks me the fuck up, he is such a Cancer and it shows, was quite hilarious when he started laughing during the middle of Gimme Indie Rock |
I saw them last night- maybe the best show i've seen- def the most fun. There was a mosh/dance circle for at least the entire second half of the show.
There were some really drunk people that kept yelling "dramamine!" and "if your name is jason lowenstein and you wrote a song called 'sister'- could you play that" at the mere sight of jason- he sadly played neither- but had probably the hardest set in the show. I drew pictures of each band and am going to write a review- very cool. |
