finally!! battles debut full lenght album, mirrored, will be released may 14th thru warp in the uk, i presume the album will be released on may 15 on the us, not sure thru which label.

and in other news: neurosis are set to release their next album entitled given to the rising on may too! still no specific date though

Can't wait for the Battles full length. I'll be seeing Neurosis at the 12th Roadburn Festival,
together with Pelican, Red Sparowes. etc. It's going to be massive.

i didn't like pelican's new one, city of echoes, that much, it sounds like b-sides from their last album; they are awesome live bands, though; have fun.

The video for atlas is awesome. I hear they're supposed to be an intense live band, love them and their wizardry to death.

I want battles to play in my backyard everytime I feel the urge to listen to their music. But most likely I will thank EN for the link and go listen their EPs right now. May wil be a good month for music, I'll see explosions in the sky, shellac, red sparowes and maybe battles too. Yay.

Cool , im seeing Pelican with These arms are Snakes next month, it should be a good gig.

I've heard their name quite a bit but that video wasn't what I expected at all. Is their other stuff like that?

Best thing I've heard this year so far. Damn DAMN GOOD !!!!

I've listened to it a few time now, and to be honest with you, I don't know what to think of it...

I listened to it once and know exactly what to think about it. Hint: It's not positive. The vocals are utterly, utterly terrible.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't understand why there has to be effects on the voice throughout the whole album.
The music's ok though. Maybe I just don't get what the big hype is about?

In my opinion the voice is part of the music, i don't consider it as proper singing, and i love how it "interacts" with the instruments, and the effects help making it more as an added layer than vocals.... By the way, it's obviously a matter of tastes, in my opinion the hype (altough as always a bit exaggerated) is justified by the fact that they are simply orginal and nowadays it's a definite plus. I can't express myself better today, sorry, just keep in mind that I'm not trying to convince people to like this album.
