The Flucts - Fallout Shelter Rehearsal Shard (Song 2), 4/14/80
https://vimeo.com/109721945
This was recently posted and is still the only 'released' track by The Fluks. This is the final 'Flucts" period of the band when we briefly spent our time working on multiple electric keyboard pieces, after playing our set of original songs around NYC from summer 1979 through spring 1980 (including one night at CBGB on the same bill w Thurston's 'Coachmen'). The band ceased to exist shortly after these recordings were made... --LR Video created by Fred Riedel. Here's his notes: David Linton, Drums Lee Ranaldo, Guitar Stuart Somer, Organ Fred Riedel, Guitar An early pass at a composition by Stuart formulated with his experimental graphic notation system and recorded in David's and Lee’s Flatbush Ave loft. Audio recording by Lee through his Sony reel-to-reel deck with 2 mics on stands amid the instrument and gear clutter. So, okay, there's a tuning problem and we're not always all on David's steady beat and Lee improvised the ending. But it kind of rocks. Released years later on UK Comes With a Smile, Hope Was a Word compilation CD in 2004 (as "2 Gtr Practice"). It's here now on video, a decade later, in case you missed it. |
Thanx Lee, this is really great! Hope you will release more material from Fluks, I really liked to hear whole album! By the way, reminds me a little bit Beefheart, but not any bad way...
