Mel C trying to look like Cat Power

Did anybody else see former Spice Girl Melanie 'Mel C' Chisholm pull off an amazing Cat Power visual on Nevermind The Buzzcocks tonight? I saw her, and I thought 'holy shit, Chan Marshall is on Phil's team!'. But it was Mel C. So kudos, for winning the international Cat Power wannabe award.

Not the best picture examples, but yeah. Huh, huh?

and this is relevant because...

Because I saw it on tv and thought it was worth mentioning.

And also, Mel C is from Liverpool and she was always my favorite Spice Girl.

Danny Himself 03.07.2007 06:40 PM

I think, especially in London, she was a big following. I'm as confused as anybody else. I think since 'You Are Free' came out she's been capable of being spoonfed though. There's somebody else on TV with a chan haircut and I forget who it is..

Danny Himself 03.07.2007 06:42 PM

What, TV and... mentioning things?

Cantankerous 03.07.2007 06:42 PM

she's really quite pretty when she's not all butch.

have a "favorite" spice girl.

but that one looks quite good, except for the tension in the corners of her mouth which gives her a certain housewife air

Well out of all of them she's come out of it most gracefully. Geri Halliwell got fat and gross, Mel B is still a big scary dudemeister, Posh.. is well.. you know, and Emma Bunton is probably working in Halifax or something.

It must be an english thing. Or perhaps I have too much room in my head for such knowledge.

Danny Himself 03.07.2007 06:59 PM

I should've added a poll.

When I was little, I was a huge fan of the Spice Girls. She wasn't my favourite, until she went solo. Even though I've only heard (and own) her very first album, which I still believe it's a really good album.
AND I AM NOT AFRAID OF TELLING YOU THIS.

:)

val-holla-ing 03.08.2007 12:54 AM

i still like the spice girls and know a few of their songs by heart.

i've been listening to their albums some weeks ago and I still find interesting elements. listen to that part in the middle of "Last Time Lover", when geri starts talking.
it has this reeeeeally weird keyboard that i LOVE

I hated the Spice Girls when I was 8, I quite like them now....
Its funny how i was cooler when I was 8

On another slightly relevent note I can't believe the love Girls Aloud get on this board

sonicl 03.08.2007 08:55 AM

Why not? They're ace. Best pop band around these days, even better than Sugababes. On the subject of which, does anyone know what is the release date of the Girls Aloud v Sugababes single for Comic Relief?
