Its the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs!

I talk little sports but i like hockey...

in the East, i'd have to say since i live in Buffalo, I like the Sabres chances, but if NJ stays hot, and/or Carolina remains consistent then it will be tough... i don't think Ottawa can stay healthy enough, their defense is desimated and Hasek is not 100%.

The west is won thru Detroit...

My Caps suck.....but we have Ovechkin!!! He is fucking filthy.

_slavo_ 04.21.2006 07:57 AM

Too bad Peter Bondra is no longer in Caps...it's one of the greatest players coming from my country (alongside Satan, Demitra, Hossa, Visnovsky, Chara, Gaborik and Svatos)

The Pens aren't in the playoffs so I don't really care. :(. What is sad is this might be the Pen's last year here. Up until two years ago we had such a good team.

after a long hiatus away from the game i finally got got back into during the 2003-04 Stanley Cup finals, then the lock-out happened and got really into a mire about it

Alexander Ovechkin could be the biggest star playing today, got to see him play against the Penguins and the Canadiens this season. he has had a phenomenal rookie season with 52 goals and 54 assists, he can certainly turn the caps around, 8 other players have had career years, they are getting Alexander Semin back from the Russian leagues, and they have 5 first and second round draft picks, they can certainly be a contender in the coming years

great year in general too, Joe Thorton had an amazing year (96 assists and 125 points i would say is good) for the Art Ross trophy and pretty much handed the Rocket Richard trophy to Jonathan Cheechoo

Sens have Redden and Chara on defence, and they're excellent at it, but I just hope that all the players are healed by the time it starts. I think that Ottawa will go further than they did other years, especially since Toronto's not a problem anymore. It's true that Hasek isn't 100%, but then again, it beats Lalime anyday. New Jersey will be tough though.

wow i spent a half hour building a bracket and press one button and it's gone

fuck it

it's gonna be Detroit over Carolina in the Stanley Cup (the Swedish line got the gold, they will get the cup)

as for the trophies
Hart: Jaromir Jagr (i think Thorton deserved it more, a lively discussion between Jenn and I to say the least)
Calder: Alexander Ovechkin (by far...........Crosby got blown away early)
Norris: Nicklas Lidström
Vezina: Miikka Kiprusoff

Hell yeah man! Bondra was the shit! That was back when we were good. The Caps were thinking about signing him in the offseason, but they are to fucking cheap so we didn't get him back....idiots.
