I think that the song with Earth on the two cd edition is better than anything on the first disc. I bought the 1 disc edition and had to download the bonus track. Southern Lord should stop being so 'kvlt' with their limited editions.

as long as people are buying them, what's there to stop them?

i really loved altar, don't get me wrong, but yeah, they should have made it a 2-cd, 3 disc vinyl set as a standard and not just do limited editions of it.
