About five years ago, Dead-Air had Noah Mickens on, What's This Called. Once or twice per year, Noah would bring his "noise" records or personal tapes/CDR's musicians have given to him.

During this one segment of the show, Noah told stories about Steve and played some of his solo stuff along with a few tracks from a project he was a part of, Radon Ensemble.

I never tracked down any Radon, but I have collected a few CD's and a 7" Steve released......always captivated by his saxophone playing.

Well, I think you can say he was a stooge. He plaeyd only b-side of Fun House, but played also in gigs in 1970. Also joined again to Stooges in 2003 and was in it end of his life.

I´ve got 2lp, where is outtakes in the other album. Got to listen that.

EVERYBODY SHOULD OWN 1970: THE COMPLETE FUN HOUSE SESSIONS. There's one take in which Steve not only sounds like Coltrane, he actually quotes the classic opening line from A Love Supreme. Right now I can't tell you in which of the 1.7 billion takes that happens, but it's there.

Sorry Soup, but I just can´t listen billion takes of some song. Not even it is Stooges.

I would say the same about any other take-after-take-of-the-same-tune compilation. The amazing thing about The Complete Fun House Sessions is that listening to it never feels like a drag, never feels like work, never feels like "Ugh, here comes the same damn one again, what's the point". You enter O-MIND and every variation made by each of the five members grabs you while you navigate this degenerate state. It's the REAL rock-jazz fusion, that thing.

Well, I really love SYR2 where are those really different versions of two ATL songs. BUT, in the seventies mostly bands have made full arrangements before they go into studios. When I have listened the outtakes of my Fun House 2lp, I really haven´t find much of differences. Of course intro in t.v. Eye is really great (is it Iggy?). Also I can hear Mackay sax is greater in outakes of 1970 & Fun House. Also Lost in the future is really great, hard to understand why it isn´t in fun house or Raw Power. But all the other outakes are weaker in my 2lp. Really hard to understand why I need to hear the whole sessions? I have never been interested those "all they recorded"-boxes, even I really love Dylan & the Band Basement Tapes, that original 2lp has always been enough to me.

DUUUDE, noooo... The 1975 double album is all fucked up with overdubs, recordings that don't belong to the same sessions, fake mono... Get the 6CD box right now goddammit!

I don´t think there are no fucking overdubs, the second album mix is from 2005 and the first is the original. The real reason why I bought this is those original gatefold covers, but of course I have enjoyed that second album too.

You can say me evil or evol or anything you want but I am not going to buy that box. Maybe then when I got all the vinyls I want (it´s maybe 2060).

Sorry, I think you were still talking about Stooges. Anyway not going to have that Dylan/Band box also, really like that 1975 album even you think it´s just mess.
