I read online that the new stooges album was/is scheduled for release today? Can anyone confirm? Mike Watt laying the phat bass?

Strange, I got my copy a couple weeks ago.

But yea, definitely save your money and download it. It's easily the worst album I've bought in a long time.

EDIT: More importantly, the new Low album comes out today.

I wonder if the local rock record store around the corner will treat this the same way they did the New York Dolls release last summer. About three weeks after the Dolls thing was out, I asked the owner if he was stocking it, got a blank look, then a surprised look, then "They have a new one? Well, I think we'll stay the hell away from that!"

And I've never ever seen it in his store.

I haven't seen the new Stooges thing either.

I've downloaded it and it's garbage as i expected it to be.

I am yet to hear or read a single positive thing about this album

20 years from now it will be hailed as a lost classic and reissued on 280-gram vinyl.

i'm listening and it's not totally TERRIBLE.

iggy's voice is a bit way too fucked though. sounds like a 13 year old when his voice is changing almost. same songs w/ a different vocalist could have been lots better.

I think is is... the music's bland, his vocals are bland, the lyrics are bland. Like someone else mentioned in a different thread it sounds like a bad Iggy Pop album from the 90's. I had a great time watching them at ATP so I'm glad they got together again a few years ago, but this album really wasn't necessary in my opinion.
