Free jazz drumming with pens, glasses and theatre programs
 

I'm so bored in this office today, the pens inspired me to drum on my desk and paperwork and i came up with a free jazz drumming session that it's about to finish because i'm switching off soon. Do you have any rituals that you perform when you are by yourself and bored?

I'm an accomplished finger-tapping air-drummer. I have my iPod in all day long at work and most of the time I don't realize that I'm even doing it.

we have monitors for research studies that have to sit near me some days. twice now I've had old ladies begging me to stop my incessant drumming.

one even told me "if you don't stop that I'm going to rip yr limbs off".

IF IT'S TOO LOUD, YR TOO OLD DAMMIT.

today I'm having to exert extreme willpower to NOT do it.....the Limb Ripper's back. :(

I dance while listening to records when I'm by myself. I gotta be drunk to dance with other people. Or a lot of people have to be dancing to make me feel comfortable.

Depends, if I am at work, I make up stories in my head. At home I just lay in bed and stare at the ceiling.

i hum or sing or start drawing doodles.

I am always playing beats with my fingers on either my knees or on a table/chair etc.....I have it down to an art where I can make them sound like a snare and a bass drum.


I would go nuts in middle/high school on my binders and my teachers would sometimes be like, "Jason......STOP!!"

I do too. I feel pretty dumb once I have finished, but I enjoy it.

Yeah I did this alot. One teacher inparticular suggested I buy a drumkit it became that frequent. Still do find myself tapping on my knees, especially in uncomfortable circumstances.

when I'm bored at work, I usually tend to come to this board.

When I'm bored at home, I call my pals out for a pint or fuck around with my sampler. which usually results in even bigger boredom.
