Honestly, I'm not getting into the whole "how can you like this and SY at the same time" crap because that's just gone round and round and the fact is, you can like whatever you want I guess, and that's fine. And I agree that many Sonic Youth fans may not like pop and hip-hop but that's no reason for it to be ignored by the boards. It's not a lesser music form necasarily either. It may not be as musically complex but it still is a talent to write a pop hook that will get stuck in people's heads.
I don't buy pop albums but I still dig the tunes.
