facebook

does anyone here use that thing? i got onto it last week after nosing through my sister's account and seeing all these people i used to go to school with but lost touch with, now i can peer at photographs of them through the magic of the internet.

social networking sites are so last year.

hypnagogic scratch 04.03.2007 07:15 AM

sneaky gilbert, how do you do that? for the last few months dictionary was the only net magic I've been using.

Inhuman 04.03.2007 07:29 AM

Yeah, I have one, I'm "Rob Bastien" in the Ottawa network.

Facebook really has gotten huge, but with exception to not having "music accounts", I find it outrules myspace. But I still use my account mostly for blogging, and I love commenting friend's blogs, but most people on facebook only post those questionnaires. I would feel so fucking conceded if I had 9 questionnaires about myself.

jon boy 04.03.2007 07:30 AM

christ no i tend to avoid things like that like the plague.

pokkeherrie 04.03.2007 07:40 AM

i regularly get invitation emails from friends to join some social networking site (not facebook but a similar thing) but i always delete those instantly.

Jt 04.03.2007 07:47 AM

I'm on, but I joined like a year and a half ago; I'm at university and being on Facebook really is de rigueur for students. I didn't want them to open it up to non-students actually; forcing you to have a university email address made sure you didn't get 11 year-old fucks wasting your time on there.

jon boy 04.03.2007 07:55 AM

i found it enough of a trauma to create a myspace account and that was only for my music.

Yeah, nobody reads those questionnaires either. They just copy paste them and do all their answers. So you aren't really telling anyone anything about yourself.

luxinterior 04.03.2007 10:58 AM

I use it. I'd have to say that I'm friends with maybe 3 of the 71 people I have on my Friends list. It's stupid.

Phlegmscope 04.03.2007 01:16 PM

I've bumbed into my old classmates while browsing through an online community. People I've only met on brief occasions during the last few years. Oh how far we've drifted apart from each other since the school days.

startur 04.03.2007 01:22 PM

i have one. as mentioaned before, it's good for reconnecting with old friends and if you just met someone new but you forgot to ask for a hotmail address or a phone number you could just facebook them. some people use it way too much though. like fuck, it is really neccessary to have 200 photos of yourself. i also find that who ever takes the time to fill out those questionnaires everyday so that they can figure what type of person they are or who just want to compare themselves to others, have sad sad lives. like do really have to find out who was you friends first kiss, when was the first time they got high, or whether they had sex in a cementary.

but yeah... i'm a part of the ottawa network, possibly the university of ottawa network, if such a network exists.

StevOK 04.03.2007 02:11 PM

I use facebook a lot. I prefer myspace though.

SynthethicalY 04.03.2007 02:41 PM

Got one but never returned.

youthoftomorrow 04.03.2007 03:08 PM

i have one. i'm in the Spokane, WA network.

i use it mostly to talk to old friends.

LittlePuppetBoy 04.03.2007 03:10 PM

I see people using that ALL the time at school. So no, I don't have an account.

waaiitt...so you neglect to get an account because everyone else has one? I got to the same school, and I see people eating ALL the time. So no, I don't eat.

although the usage of the word "so" means that the following clause is an outcome or concequence of the previous clause.

Or we can be us typical Americans and say:
"So the other day I saw people using facebook..."
