The Most Overrated Author
 

Which author do you find the most overated.

Will Self and Martin Amis for me.

I thought Grey Area and Great Apes were really good books. Enjoyed Dorian as well. Was not so keen on How the Dead Live and never got round to finishing My Idea of Fun or Cock and Bull.
Never read any Martin Amis.
Personally, always thought Kerouac was a tad overrated.

I think Kathy Reichs is overhyped, but maybe she's just not my style. Micheal Azzerad is pretty bad too

I have to say that I wanted to hang myself reading Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen.

As far as late 19th century female writers go, the Brontes and Mary Shelley both kick that dumb bitch's ass.

dan brown is massively overated. all his books seem to be the same.

burroughs is a literary god.

I wouldn't consider Dan Brown to be overrated, because I don't think many people claim that he produces works of literary genius. He just writes good thrillers, same as Lee Child, James Patterson etc.
