Sonic Youth's influences on Heavy Metal genres

I'd like to know what bands were influenced by the sound of Sonic Youth (by albums, songs) and if there are any articles, pictures with SY members with headbangers etc, articles putting this subject in depth.

I don’t remember specific bands, but I think there was some mention of Black Metal bands being into SY. For some reason I want to say The Sprawl or Cross The Breeze were points of influence, but I often misremember details.

That would make "Cross The Breeze" a metal-inspiring metal-inspired song, since apparently Slayer's South Of Heaven was influential on it.

I myself dislike metal, though, but we already had that conversation and it already went nowhere. :D
