putting the cat to sleep

she's old and gnarly.

that's not a good enough reason in itself, but she's decided to stop using the litter box every chance she gets and that can't continue.

there's really no way to retrain a cat that old.

I have a half day tomorrow, so I'm going to go do it while the kid's at school. :(

ALIEN ANAL 04.12.2007 11:31 PM

i once had a cat that looked exactly like her. Sorry that you have to do this.

go read my other thread about my town being above the average !

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.12.2007 11:46 PM

I feel for you man. Putting down a beloved pet is a hard thing to do. Watching them die naturally is much worse.

ALIEN ANAL 04.12.2007 11:49 PM

dont cats run off and hide to die...so if she is sticking around then she aint going nowhere just yet, she will go missing for ever and then you know she is gone

cryptowonderdruginvogue 04.12.2007 11:49 PM

sway, adopt the cat or shut the fuck up

no worries, I have thicker skin than that. I just wanted to see if you actually had something to say on the matter or were just trying to be angsty for the sake of it. :p

I've thought of everything. she lives under a fucking dresser. setting her free (with no claws and no knowledge of food but dry cereal) would be murderous.

taking her to the pound for hopes of adoption would blow her seclusive mind. it's just "that time".

my wife's pretty fucked up over it. Wanda's been her cat for over 18 years.

ALIEN ANAL 04.13.2007 12:03 AM

yeh 3rd the life span but the indoor cats have 3rd of the excitment in life
id rather die younger and be outdoors than die later stuck inside.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 04.13.2007 12:11 AM

i dont want to eat the cat, ass

Ha ha ha.....no way man, that's horrible!!! Would you dump your grandma out of a wheel barrow in the woods and just say, "It's been real.....good luck!!"

Norma J 04.13.2007 05:09 AM

Take he or her to the vets and see what the vet thinks. If the cat is still happy and pain free in life, then it should remain that way. You shouldn't put he or her down purely because you can't be bothered cleaning up shit.

hey man i hope you give the kid the chance to say goodbye to his friend? springing this up on them as a fait accompli is not very good.

floatingslowly 04.13.2007 10:48 AM

the kid barely notices that she exists.

she never comes out of hiding.....that's why I'm doing it now. :(

I'm off with her to the vet. I spoke with them and they said that this was the right thing to do considering her age. she acted shocked that the cat is as old as it is.

anyways.....please wish Wanda a pleasant journey.
