I need a program for my comp

which will turn video into audio. And please don't say TCV because I had it and my trial version ran out.

Oh yeah, it needs to be free as well

You can do that with audacity. Just set to record the stereo mix and play the video and hit record.

king_buzzo 04.13.2007 12:13 PM

More info, i dont really get that?

val-holla-ing 04.13.2007 12:18 PM

what exactly do you mean by that? are you looking for a program that will reinterpret the 1's and 0's of digital video into audio bleeps and bloops?

king_buzzo 04.13.2007 01:17 PM

Basically i want to transfer the 2002 Ashton/Ashton/Mascis/Watt Pukkelpop show into audio.

you mean you want to capture the audio track.

dont say "transfer" or people will think you'r into krazee experimentation my man. which is what val is thinking.

what you wanna do is cake.

Do you have realplayer? If so then right click on the file and choose 'burn cd in realplayer'. You could then take the cd and put it back on your computer, I suppose.

it's really simple:

1. play the video
2. cover your eyes...
3. and voila! you have video turned into audio!

alternatively, you could google "avi to mp3", "mpg to mp3", "mov to mp3", "wmv to mp3" or whatever file extension your video is in to find a free converter. i used eo-video a few times, but i'm not sure if that's free to be honest.

val-holla-ing 04.13.2007 09:46 PM

you could just download a program called wiretap. the trial lets you do what you're wanting to do.

terminal pharmacy 04.14.2007 04:22 AM

wiretap is the go

Torn Curtain 04.14.2007 07:47 AM

DVD Audio Extractor or DVD Audio Ripper if that's a DVD.

Virtualdub with its "Save as wav" function if its another video file format.

ZEROpumpkins 04.15.2007 03:15 AM

Cool edit pro 2 extracts the audio from video files.

Tried this, whenever i click on Extract Audio From Video the program dies and doesn't respond.

Torn Curtain 04.15.2007 05:31 AM

It would be better if you told us the file format: DVD, AVI, WMV...

Ok so it's a WMV. Video to audio converter should do the job:
