growing's "vision swim"
"vision swim", the new growing album just got released on CD at the TMU store. the LP is supposed to be released a little later this month. this is something to get excited over.

when i first heard color wheel, i was really into it but then it became tiresome to me...i wonder what this one is going to sound like.
no clue. i like color wheel, but i wish it were louder.
the older stuff is ace, i love the archive disc...i'll give color wheel another chance.
totally agreed. 'his return' is probably my favorite.
have you heard any of those super rare (limited to 100) live tapes they did? |
no, i haven't really looked too hard into them, but i'm certainly curious.
I really like Color Wheel and everything before, but Vision Swim is just too drifty and ridiculous. It sounds like an effects pedal solo (more than usual). Really boring.
i agree. and where is Val? he was the coolest cat on here
ohhh, this one, it struck me as them trying to sound like tangerine dream as much as possible.
perfect name for the album though.
i really really like growing. they are easily one of the top 5 bands from new york (i know their from olympia, but i def see them as an nyc band). i like watching them live, they perform in that mysterious spacemen 3 type way, while playing very fucking loud ambient music.

haha, funny you mention it. my brother has two pot plants growung in the back of the house right now, theyre getting really big, no shit, were not sure theyll bud in time though before it starts to get cold, my brother is aside from being a top notch drummer, a chemistry student and really good at shit like that. i said the profit is in cooking meth, but he likes his grass. |
great album at first... gets tedious on repeated listens...
They were a mere disappointment when they were supporting Boris. The myspace shit at the time got me expecting a bit too much. They were ok, but as they had about hundred guitar pedals lying on the floor, you'd think the result would be somewhat more exciting.
